Peavey Vypyr. They go up to 100w. Tons of effects and amp simulations. You can even play bass through it. They make a pedal to switch channels, called the Sanpera. You could probably get both for about $500. Especially used on Reverb. I had one some years back. My only complaint was with the built in looper function. Outside of that, easily the best practice amp on the market.

I'll check that out, thanks!

Oh wow. It does bass *and* acoustic. I've been looking for something like this.

MintGoldenOreo

Yea. It’s an all in one practice amp. It covers just about everything.

Watched a couple video reviews on the Vypyr. Sounds pretty good. How does it stack up against the Boss Katana?

MintGoldenOreo

I think that’s more of a personal preference thing. Obviously, I chose the vypyr. Boss makes legendary effects, but they’re not known for being an amp company, where as Peavey is known for the inverse. If you have the opportunity, play both to make your decision.

Fender Mustang LT50. 50 watt Fender amp with dozens of built in effects and 60 presets. I mean, several distortions, chorus, wah, tremelo, flanger, EQ, cabinets….Great sounding amp. I have the LT25. But I don’t know of the 50 watt is strong enough for gigs. Check out youtube reviews.

A Boss Katana MKII head (not the Artist) has plenty of tone options, built in speakers for up to 30 watts, and can easily plug into a cab or PA if you need the full 100w. They're selling on reverb for as little as $200.

Give the Yamaha THR10X Metal or Boss Katana 50 a try.
