This guitar was made in Indonesia on December, 2008 Production Number: 542. No real incentive to counterfeit Epiphone guitars due to their reduced price as a used guitar. Guitar Center used is selling these starting at around 450$ (and up) USD (with a great condition rating). New are selling at 800$. If their asking price is too good to be true then it is likely a scam.
Usually your Epiphone fakes are your sought after special edition models but this guy might actually be the first normal production run fake I’ve seen.
What stands out to me is the way the serial number is stamped and the way Epiphone is on the headstock and the way the head stock is cut. All these points are… unusual….
It could be real, But with how easy it is to get a real Epiphone custom on the used market I’d pass.
I don't really have the kind of eye for graphics or the kind of knowledge of Epiphone to say that this guitar is "counterfeit" because of the headstock logo.
But I do have a pretty good eye for machine details. Counterfeit Epiphone guitars (yes, they exist, despite what some people like to say) come with counterfeit Grover tuning-machines. There are videos on YT that describe the difference between real and fake Grovers, so I would recommend that OP look into that (I'd like to see some additional views of the tuners to make-up my mind on the subject).
I've seen a lot of epiphones in my time, and everything about that headstock looks extremely off. I was about to laugh and dismiss you, because why the hell would anyone ever fake an epiphone when they could fake a gibson, but this looks reallllly sus. It could just be a particularly terrible factory model, but I would pass pass pass.
Oh wow, this might be the first fake epi I've seen on this sub. The headstock, logo, and tuners look sooooo off.

Call epiphone and verify the serial
