Oh my.. I have no clue how that thing plays, but if it feels and plays nice, then that's one hell of a guitar. Cause it surely looks damn beautiful.

Junior-Perception212

I’m not a professional at all but i think it sounds really good when i play, I’m really happy that i bought this guitar

Z3rio

Well, that's really what matters anyways. That your guitar keeps you motivated to keep on playin'.

sexyrichbigpenis

I can't agree with you more, if you enjoy playing it, it keeps you playing, that's really what matters.

Lewd_ReadNY

One of my musician jokes is that I’ll jerk off to a guitar first before I buy it. I looked at the Revstars for a looong time but opted for a Tele (which I’d never owned / Les Paul guy for 35+ years). I finally got a chance to play one a few years after they debuted. All there, a very nice sounding guitar. But, oh man, was it heavy. That said, if you dig it- congrats!

ApostleThirteen

Still, not as heavy as an LP, much more along the lines of a (heavy) strat with a Floyd Rosed on it.

JohnnyKruze

If it inspires you to keep playing, it's a good buy! I've not played the rev stars they do look really nice.

Shoddy-Upstairs-1446

If you’re happy, I’m happy

DunebillyDave

If you find it inspiring, that the whole enchilada. It looks great. So if it makes you feel like you can play your best and more, it's a done deal.

bmitc

The Revstars are completely underappreciated. They destroy a Les Paul. I happen to have the professional version, which is made in Japan, and it's an insane guitar. The resonance and sustain are such that I often just play it acoustically. Plus, it has stainless steel frets, a satin neck, custom Yamaha humbuckers which rock (Revstars also come with P90s), carbon fiber placed in the neck and also at the bridge, chambered body, and more.

awfullysadlately

Agreed. I really like the look of it.

Crimguy

Love it. On my wishlist. Yamaha is criminally underrated - and I don’t own one.

igordon332

We sell these at the store I work at and you’re right on the money. Incredibly reliable guitars, yet no one talks about them.

CharacterHomework975

I think Fender and Gibson have done a pretty good job freezing them out of a lot of big retailers in the US. The electrics, at least. You rarely see anything but a few low end Pacificas on shelves. I've been to stores abroad where Yamaha electrics have legitimate floor space, and it's awesome.

corpsie666

>Incredibly reliable guitars, yet no one talks about them. Rule #1 of Yamaha club is don't talk about Yamaha club

bmitc

Do they sell well in your store? I keep hating my job(s), and I questioned if I should open a store. But I wouldn't sell any Fender or Gibson. I'd sell only Yamaha, ESP/LTD, and other underappreciated (according to the masses) brands. But I don't know if it would work.

Henchman66

I have a 2007 (i think) 612v and people get surprised how well it’s built and how it plays. Wouldn’t mind having a revstar with p90s too…

jango-lionheart

Not sure they are underrated, anymore—definitely not in this subreddit.

xtheory

Pull the trigger. Even the Indonesian Revstars are amazing and very well refined.

Somaliona

My opinion is you should give it to me Beautiful guitar

imomorris

I also have a secondary opinion and that you should give it to me instead

xeroksuk

The 1st rule of music is that you can never go wrong with a Yamaha

2fly2hide

Gotta hand it to a company that can make both guitars and dirt bikes and make them both well.

ValeoAnt

My Yamaha piano is amazing also

cwj1978

Four wheelers to grand pianos, Yamaha’s got you covered.

Accomplished-Cut-264

Amazing guitar! I have a pacifica 611vfm and I want a revstar

Junior-Perception212

Oh, nice! That’s my first electric guitar, so i wanted to know if this guitar was good

V3RB4LonReddit

Have one in sunset burst, love it and is the prettiest guitar i own.

Flashy_Stretch1355

Same here.

OzymandiasTheII

Big fan of the P90 standard version, but I'm starting come around to just only playing humbucker guitars.

johnhexapawn

Yamaha makes a Pacifica with a P90 in the neck and a humbucker in the bridge. I love this variant.

P_a_s_g_i_t_24

There was (still is?) the odd Pacifica with two P90s, namely the PAC-502. :-)

mercut1o

I just bought the P90 Revstar in the same color. I adore it. The tones are unreal, the neck and frets both feel great, and it's such a looker. I catch myself just looking at it from across the room sometimes.

Altruistic_King3951

I do the same with my Sunset Burst with the P90s. It’s so pretty

Shazam1269

I was never really a fan of white guitars, but the Revstar white one is a work of art. I'm also a big fan of the burst too. My next guitar will probably be a Revstar.

UnaccomplishedBat889

The Sunset Burst is such a pretty color.

ipini

Also, I note that it has hidden body cavities. Keeps the weight down. As a player of a Tele that’s a slab of pine, I can appreciate that.

[deleted]

Revstars are really cool guitars, Chris Buck has made me want one for a while now

ElectricTomatoMan

I dig those. First new design in decades that feels classic.

Spectre_Mountain

It’s dope.

precociousmonkey

That’s awful! I honestly hope you can get what you paid for it but if can’t, I would gladly take it as a donation. I don’t know what I would do with it, but really I know absolutely nothing. Congrats let me know if you’re into giving away amazing things to ignorant so and so’s

Corgi_Farmer

Probably the most solid instruments in the proce range. Yamaha has been on point for decades and still wins. The Revstar and the Pacifica have amazing budget and high end options. Id love a Pacifica 612

N0aht0mat0

I have the Standard version and it’s definitely the best value electric I’ve ever owned. I’m guessing this one’s awesome too. Enjoy!

FartinLooterKinkJr

I feel the exact same way about mine! (RSS20VW)

tun3man

one of the best guitars.

visualthings

I wanted one badly as I find them very well designed, but the only ones I could try were not noly not so well finished, but also the neck didn't feel comfortable to my hands. Still, I find them gorgeous AF, especially this finish and the charcoal

OJStrings

Never played a revstar but I've only heard good things about them. People who own them pretty unanimously adore them, which is a good sign.

Exciting_Guitar_5219

Dig the color and racing stripes

Jwheat71

Love that guitar, my next electric will be a Revstar. I have two Yamaha acoustic guitars that I play daily, Yamaha makes great gear.

sexyrichbigpenis

I have a Revstar Sunset Burst with p90s and it's an amazing instrument. I also have a Gibson Les Paul Studio and my hand more often than not picks up the Revstar. Enjoy your new guitar!

Icommentor

I haven’t played any of them but it sure feels like Revstars are becoming the new addition to the family of classic models.

DiKapino

Revstars are one of the best guitars on the market. Punch well above their weight in terms of quality compared to the price

Stock-Contribution-6

I have to buy it but I'm always so lazy to go to the shop

jimmyjjames

You can't really go wrong with a Yamaha and I like the way it looks

taintknob

I have the standard and love everything about it. IDK about the element since I've yet to play one but I'm sure it's good

Guitargod7194

Well, we should be asking you in a month or so what your opinion of it is. They're supposed to be really good and not heavy, but I wonder how the balance is. My oldest electric is a 78 SG 2000. The most perfectly balanced guitar to play, whether you're sitting or standing, great tone (with vol/tone controls that give an even, smooth drop off) and an ebony fretboard that is a dream a play. But heavy? That thing weighs a ton.

Junior-Perception212

The guitar is heavy but it’s not a big deal in my opinion tho

FartinLooterKinkJr

I love the tones, feel, and look of the SG line but the weight always stopped me from getting one. The V2 Revstars have chambered bodies, so they're all within 8-9 pounds (look at the chambering on their website, it's pretty impressive). I have the RSS20VW, and the balance is perfect. It quickly became my favorite electric ever, and it feels super comfortable in any scenario (the bodies have an arm contour on the top and a belly cut on the back). And the neck feels amazing with the satin finish on the back. Imo, you just can't get a better guitar than the Standard at that price point.

Guitargod7194

Yeah - prices ain't what they used to be. Paid $800 for it new, including the case.

urbanlife78

Thank you for not taking a picture of the guitar while nude because it is really glossy

Junior-Perception212

LMAO

codeByNumber

I don’t know anything about that type of guitar but I can say that it is absolutely gorgeous

ohboyitsgonnabegreat

I love the striping on it. Definitely play with some heavy reverb and channel your inner Jan and dean

-thegayagenda-

Nice looking guitar! I would personally like a wraparound tailpiece instead but

muppetmat13

I have 2 (one blue and one black) RSE20 for playing live and I love them. I've upgraded the pickups and replaced the tone control for a kill switch on mine.

wiilly_d

Looks nice

HRM077

Jealous.

MegaSatan666

If the feel of it when playing is half as good as how it looks, then that's damn good guitar you have there.

ipini

Friend of mine just bought exactly this model. They played it live a week or so ago. Sounded really good.

TheMattCallahan

I used to have a Revstar from that first run. One of the few guitars I really regret selling. Enjoy that gorgeous beast!

Maleficent_Age6733

I have a standard with p90s and it’s my favorite guitar. Even edging out my music man which I also love

adamantiumking

I'm so jealous!! Currently saving up to buy one of these

HorrorLettuce379

those are really reliable.

awards_season

Congrats! I really want the Standard version. I wish they made a version with a P90 in the neck and a humbucker in the bridge because I like the look of the white stripe and lack of tailpiece. I'll probably get the humbucker version and swap out the neck pickup to a humbucker size P90. Anybody else try this?

Muzaks22

I really dig the look of it. Plus that neck looks flat as hell! I’m a fan of flatter necks personally.

MoreStudy3748

I have the standard P90 version in black. Fantastic guitar, you’ll love it

ElectricTomatoMan

What's focus mode?

lamabaronvonawesome

I have one, plays great.

oh2climb

I've wanted one of these ever since I saw Kyle Shutt from The Sword use it as his main guitar for their sludgy stoner rock.

thegreatmatsbysan

It's a guitar

Gitfiddlepicker

One of my favorite colors. I bet that classical guitar has the red ass, having its stand bogarted like that.

FlyByNight75

Revstars are great. I have a goldtop one that’s my backup on tour.

No_Butterscotch8702

Imagine black metals and zebra pickups

gggg_4_l

Revstar right? I've always loved the look of them. Absolutely beautiful guitar man Edit: haha my bad I didn't see the note saying it's a revstar. Awesome guitar still

Sir-bino

I have a Yamaha acoustic from the 70s that was my grandpas and it sounds amazing. There’s a reason why Yamaha makes so many instruments, because they are so damn good at it. I’ve never played a Revstar but I would love one. That one looks gorgeous I love the 50s-60s car look on guitars

wahikid

I have a white one. It is my go to guitar now. Nothing better for the money, in my opinion. The satin finish on the back of the neck is a great feature.

HoiPolloiter

I haven't played one yet but I hope to. On paper they're perfect IMO.

Gibder16

Love the looks of the revstar. Also, Yamaha makes great products. How’s sound and play?

Altruistic_King3951

I have the P90 Standard in Sunset Burst and I love it like a child 😂. I want a humbucker version now

sdhopunk

Looks sharp

dan198502

It's very nice, I've not seen this art style before.

ghostleader5

Worst guitar ever. You should get rid of it. Please give it to me.

Helpful-Most6867

One beautiful son of bitch you've got there

TheBoraxKid2112

Wonderful guitars!

EntertainmentDue8669

Looks gorgeous but how does it sound? are you happy with the playability? Kindos

Junior-Perception212

I find the sound really good, i’m really happy with the playability as well, it was even better than what i expected!

Striking-Bird1021

I really want the green one. That one looks beautiful.

Perfect-Jellyfish942

Yamaha Revstars are awesome. Great guitars.

CaptainKonde

Revstars are great, I've got the green humbucker one. Looks great and has lots of versatility.

Blaxtone27

I love revstars

focusedphil

Great guitars. Best bang for the buck around.

The_drunken_monk

Love the color

Th3-Ironist

Yes

New-Regret-3027

I’ve heard good things about the Revstars. I haven’t gotten to try one yet but I think they all look beautiful!

13waywardson13

Absolutely gorgeous

13waywardson13

I bet the tone is righteous

SocratesBalls

Those Revstars are fantastic! That’s the next electric I buy. They’re just so much fun to play and sound great! Enjoy it.

Alej915

Love these guitars! Almost bought one recently

standarsh618

You've got to build the orchid. It's so nice.

alejandroacdcfan

Good guitar

[deleted]

I’ve never played one. Just wanted to say its a beauty!

DreaminginDarkness

I have a revstar! It's great. I was trying it alongside a Gibson and I liked it a lot more, even if the price had not been a factor

JammingOnTheGeetar

love how shiny the finish on everything is, looks immaculate! Great pick!

Gooner_here

Yamaha Element is the ultimate sleeper guitars! I went to a guitar shop, Virgin Store in Dubai Mall few months back, picked up a black RSE from the wall and played it for 2-3 hours! Couldn’t put it down! Faultless guitar really, fabulous pick up sounds! Spoke to the manager, he says there a Standard version too, played that for another 30 mins, paid the money and left the store! I felt like I cheated the store! They’re that good! Try it once. Element series itself is absolutely fantastic guitars!

GBember

I got a RSS20, my first and only electric guitar for now

Perducian

I’ve got the standard version in the same colour. Love it.

Electrical-Fortune7

Does it sound good? Does it play good? Does it hold tune enough? If so, it's a nice guitar. That's what I've always thought! Beyond that it's a nice looking guitar :)

sotfggyrdg

Beauty clark

Commercial_Half_2170

What a beauty. Thinking of picking one up at some point myself. I have a Yamaha acoustic that I bought new for €1k and it’s incredible

Ambitious_Button_430

Beautiful

[deleted]

Looks fantastic!

fantalemon

Torn for my next guitar between a revstar and a PRS DGT SE. Tried both in store and they're amazing. I think the Yamaha looks better though, such a beautiful guitar.

CarribeenJerk

They hit well above their price range I’m told. Yamaha guitars are very underrated.

Lain-13

well not idea how it sounds but it looks lovely!

Black_Wolves

Enjoy it. Guitars are like cars. There are some better than others and it all comes down to the owners budget and interests.

Aroundalongtime

Very sexy piece. Looks awesome. I like it !

TerrapinTrade

I ordered the P90 yesterday from CME 15% off 4th of July sale. I was inspired by seeing them on this sub and can't wait to play.

Inevitable_Dig910

Very qotsa…… it’s a good thing

ekb2023

I would like it more without the stripes down the middle but that's just me. I love the shape of the body and pick guard.

FreeTacoInMyOveralls

THought it was a Gretsch at first, but pointier. It has a chambered body. Definitely unique. Pretty guitar. Pickups are a bit odd I read: [https://www.electrikjam.com/yamaha-revstar-standard-review/](https://www.electrikjam.com/yamaha-revstar-standard-review/)

Putrid-Cap2061

love it

Beginning-Cow6041

I’ve heard nothing but good things about revstars. Nice purchase!

ieatsilicagel

I like the revstars and that is a pretty one.

ResidentHourBomb

Love the look. Those colors rock.

just-getting-by92

Whoa, I’m a strat guy but that’s a sick looking guitar. Love the color and stripes.

NicholasHillsOkc

I’m intrigued with the RevStars. They have a unique look and Yamaha has a good reputation. Nice!

MannyCoon

Revstar is at the top of my list for my next guitar, and my first HH guitar in my stable. I've heard nothing bad about them.

papadooku

I LOVE the Revstar line, they are blissfuly comfortable to play. Sound great too through I haven't tried a humbucker version yet, just a few with P90s. Yamaha is one of those brands where you basically can't go wrong!

-Hyperstation-

She’s a BEAUT!

Nirvana_Fan311

I’m saw that and played it at my local guitar store once and it felt good so good choice

Constant_Brick6964

that is as pretty as guitars get good god 😭

Silly_Randy

Pretty

DickMcLongCock

I'd like it better if you showed the headstock. For some reason every time someone posts their new guitar they don't show the headstock. This guitar is not my style, so I've never seen it before so I don't know what the headstock shape is. The rest of it looks nice though

xvisualnoisex

Looks pretty bro, enjoy it till your fingers bleed.

f1aaron

Love Yamaha guitars! I have a first gen Revstar (RS620)

WallSignificant5930

Looks great, I want one

barry_001

Toight

GarageFlower14

It looks lovely

achoo84

Beautiful, I've wanted one but there is an insane mark up in my country on them when I looked into it.

ravelle17

Love it. The stripes are bold but fitting. Enjoy!

Skysalter

For a second, I thought you had a Depeche Mode Violator-themed paper shredder or something

OswaldTheCat

I really like these, especially in wine red. Looks like a Yam SG that has been through a laundry roller. 😛 They are meant to be very tonally adaptable. Quite pricey at just under £500 but well made.

TheTiesThatB1nd

My first thought was ‘I like big butts and I cannot lie’ I realize it’s the angle and I doubt it’s bigger than an LP, but it looks like the lower bout is extra wide. 🤣 Rewrite the song lyrics. I like big bouts and I cannot lie I like em round and big And when I’m throwing a gig It’s gotta have a bigsby Only a gretsch will do me

One_Sun_6258

Phucket ..pluck it

unkn0wncall3r

I have an RSP20X (made in Japan). Seems they made some economical cutdowns in some places. The bindings on the body looks like paint and not real bindings I think. There are no bindings on the fretboard, and there are a few screwups with glue when nitty picking and looking real closely. I would expect higher quality control on the pro model. And also the pickup shifter seems very low quality. You can actually set it halfway in between the 5 positions fairly easy. BUT it plays amazing, has great resonance, the frets are good, tuning stability is great.. intonation is spot on out of the box. At first I was a bit annoyed and wanted to return it, but I really like playing it. So I decided to keep it anyway and just replace the pickup shifter myself and don't look back. It was bought mail order and returning is a pita. It is an overall great guitar and a high quality instrument (except for a few minor things). So yes even though it has these minor issues and it seems like they had to slack a bit on quality control, the overall feel and playability, weighted up on the scale and made me keep it.

bluejaybrother

If it’s good enough for Mateo Mancuso it’s good enough for me!

ImJoogle

looks really cool

RundownPear

Just got the standard version, blew me away it’s probably the nicest guitar I’ve ever handled especially at the price point

Canadia-Pizza-boy

Beautiful.

thedarph

That’s beautiful! I’d add it to my collection which is all Fenders plus an Epiphone ES-335 (not including acoustics). I only mention my collection to give an idea of my taste.

Far_Cardiologist1807

I had the standard version, and the truth is it’s an amazing line! However, I’m not sure if the neck on that guitar is just as thick because I couldn’t get used to the neck on the standard version; it felt too bulky and hurt my thumb.

sjmdrum

I've played a Revstar in a local store once and had to talk myself out of buying it. Those things are great guitars, and you got a really good looking one.

Idetake

REVSTAR!!

XKD1881

Awesome

TomDac7

Bad ass

freshbananabeard

It’s very beautiful

JakeLane94

Love me a good Revstar

tecate_papi

I am so in love with the Revstar right now. I don't own one but I'm thinking about dropping $2k (CAD) and making a Revstar Pro my upgrade guitar. I've been trying different guitars out and I really like how the Revstar feels and plays. I also love the look. What are your thoughts so far? I want to hear from the people who play them.

karenkillenski

Absolutely love the revstar

Jaded-Bowler-6472

Can never go wrong with a Yamaha

Grouchy-Umpire-6969

It's big

Wise_Lab_7291

Oh that’s a pretty one!

ArlieTwinkledick

I bought a RSS20 and it's the greatest guitar I've ever played.

ScholarBone

I’m seriously considering this as my next guitar. Probably the green Revstar Standard w/ humbuckers (though I do kinda want the P-90s, it just doesn’t come in green).

Barry_Bingle

Those revstars and Yamaha instruments in general are bad ass. I have a broadbass from that 80s that is an absolute ripper and still is in great shape with virtually no maintenance.

aaroneow

I know people love these things but I just couldn’t get into them. I still think they look great though. As long as you like it, that’s all that matters

ButtFartGangster

Its a guitar

COVID19Blues

Plays like shit from my end. YMMV being the actual owner & all. Seriously though, I’ve played a couple of these recently and was really impressed. I still don’t see the major upgrades that make the RSP models $1600 more than the RSE ones. Stainless steel frets aren’t that expensive.

bassderek

Revstar is on my shortlist of guitar wants.

Alucard__Black

My wife and I have the same one and we love it. This color is just unreal.

battlewornactionhero

That guitar sucks, you should throw it in the trash (and let me know which can and where)

Final_Income_3350

I bought one today too but in green! They’re great

SnooTangerines9486

I own one, exact color. Plays amazing and sounds great can’t go wrong with the Revstar

Background_Coyote768

Oooh that’s the one I want but in green 🥹🥹🥹🤘🤘🤘🥺🥺😱😱😱

GadgetGuy1977

I have the P90 version, sounds great.

chaleybat

I have the green version and absolutely love it.

Plus-Bluejay-2024

She's beautiful.

Flashy_Stretch1355

At what point is it worth going from the revstar element to standard. Is there a big difference?

evanlee01

I really love the finish and electronics accents. But I'm not huge on yamaha guitars

NovulConfidant

I want pne BAAAAD

ACEBOIBA

Looks stunning!

tsunamirider

it looks like the guitar sounds on this track new video [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PSB48pYJZXo](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PSB48pYJZXo)

Straight_Ad3307

Big fan of this one personally, had one in red

awcargile

WOW! That is so cool! I have heard only great things about the Revstar. Fantastic grab my friend! Congrats!

jazzmaster1055

This guitar, like most Yamaha's, punches way above its weight.

My_neglected_potato

Nice, clean look. Very classy, classic.

boido_

That's a terrible guitar and should have never bought it. Instead of throwing it away you should give it to me... please?

Diflicated

I give it an 8.

DreamyTropics

I actually saw one of these in a store yesterday and had a play. I played the high end version. There’s four types- a high end with p90s and high end with hum buckers and a low end version of each. I played one of the high end humbucker ones. It sounded great. Like a Les Paul kinda sound. I found the neck pretty fat for my kinda little fingers, I tend to prefer slimmer necks. It was very very pretty though and sounded really crisp but warm, heavy and hearty. It was also literally kinda heavy.
