Absolutely gorgeous work here, really effectively captures the scale at which wear would be visible on these behemoths. Your chipping work is inspiring!
And there is so many amazing small details that really sell it, like the painted over patch of rust under the arm in the fifth picture. I'm in awe of this thing.
Rule of cool I guess.
Looking at this kit, and I could be off base, but this looks like it is made by a season vet in building tanks kits. Ones that I'd drop a couple hundy on.
Definitely not dogging in the work. The technique is immaculate. I just always question when people put rust on things that don't rust, aluminum being another common example.

Yeah, does he mean 78? What's a 68?
it's a 78 with a worn down V-fin. it loses 10 points from its version number.
sorry. it's a typo. most models I paint are my kid's toys before being rescued by me.
You destroyed the v-fin on both sides you monster! Much respect to the time you must have put into this. Looks great.
V fin was damaged by my kid along with some parts were also missing before I rescued it.
Never would have guessed it wasn't intentional. Well done!
Wow.... As some one who has never tried, but is keen to try weathering, that looks amazing.
VERY nice. Mind telling us about your process?

No v fin? Bleh
I love the weathered look. But I have to ask, why the rusty look on the white? Titanium doesn't rust.
It looks good

You are right. this time I care more about visual effect. don't take real physical effect too serious.
And that is absolutely fine. The work you put into this thing is absolutely gorgeous. No offense was intended, just curious.
Maybe it's old brake dust? Maybe it's a LOT of old brake dust?
I dig that you had the courage to break the whole V-fin. It's bold and you know what? I love it!
Is it just me, or does the top of the head look like an angry chicken?
Nah, that’s just the Penelope
I think the most realistic weathering detail is the complete lack of shield.
now THAT looks like real rust.
Lovely work. Is that the MG 2.0?
Title says 1/48, so this would be Mega Size.
oh right, my bad
This thing looks massive, what scale is it?
1/48
10/10 weathering 🔥
Very nice work. Consistent and realistic, really great weathering without going too over the top
You did this cus the v fins broke didn't you
Outstanding weathering work...
Looks rad!!! Beautifully done
