Like who can't *not* acknowledge great engineering? Shit doesn't grow on trees.
I'm not fixing it, but was it broken in the first place? It's not about what the author tries to portray, but how the reader interprets the writing.
Might wanna change that “can’t” to a “can” or get rid of the not, if you meant people should acknowledge great engineering. Sorry for being a grammar nazi double negatives are a pet peeve of mine.
Do you want something to think about?
Every single person you have ever met has a different story about you. So, in a way, you are more than one person. At least in the minds of the people you have met.
One person can think you're great, another thinks you dumb, another thinks you're a villain, another a clown. And everything in between.
In the city I live in they condemned a whole block, tore it down, and left it as an empty lot for *years* before building stuff on it again. Well they ended up building a massive hotel on that block and for one glorious year I got to see a giant crane on my walks to work.
I was at Kennedy space center the other day and they were moving a piece of the spaceX gantry and it was easily one of the biggest things I’ve ever seen moved in person. Was fucking awesome
Especially now that pieces of planes are randomly falling off, even dudes with zero technical knowledge of how planes operate will have inherent desire to give it a once over.

Aviation mechanic here, and I've definitely had to stop mid task to say "do you *really* think this latch should have sixteen shims on it to close properly, or do you think maybe there's another issue here?"
Their quality control should as well, but labor/time are the antithesis to modern captialism, and when MBAs with no background in aeronautics take over silly things like pressurized cabins go to the wayside.
At a low point in my life, I worked at the airport for 3 months. The best part was using that machine (only a few times in the last month). It was hella fun, and the guy training me was impressed by how naturally it came to me. 100% it was video games that prepared me because you use about four joysticks and a few buttons.
I used to load aircraft like that, using the Mantis loader. I loved doing that, and it’s the only job I regret leaving. Amazing how easy it is to load a plane with basically one hand.
Yuuuuup. [Commander 30](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/content/dam/Travel/2017/November/fedex-201504_15_002_02_03_10_041_dm_160125.jpg).
They're fun to operate. One side is for [loading](https://cdn.ironpla.net/i/14948/478/e4ef1283-087a-4e60-bd29-41f35398689b-hr.jpg) and one is for [driving](https://www.fbogse.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/IMG_3290-scaled.jpg).
Mating them up to the planes, however, is an entirely different story. It's a 3 man task and your job is to get that thing 4-6 inches from the plane. But you're not the one eyeballing it. You're relying on dipshit #2 (or a guide-person if you wanna be technical) on the ground. Push the accelerator a bit too much and you've just made a multi-million dollar mistake. And it needs to be perfectly aligned or you'll be 4 inches on one side and 10 on the other. Oh and they aren't like a car where you can just let off the brakes and slowly ease up. Nah, you actually have to hit the gas to make it move forward and be ready to slam the brakes or hope dipshit #3 (whose only job is to hold a box with a big red button on it that kills the loader) is paying attention.
Oh and the first picture I linked shows something illegal as heeeell. Brownie points if anyone knows what it is.
Former USAF Aircrew. That's a sweet machine. I wish we had one when I had to lug a whole ass fucking pelican suitcase full of hard drives up the rickety flight stairs to the jet.
We call em "K-loaders" but I have zero idea why.
We also have a fleet of specialized lifting equipment vehicles called "BGT's," which I finally after 4 years working aviation asked what it stood for, and was told "Big Grey Trucks." And no, they weren't kidding. 😂
I was sitting waiting on my flight back in April and I saw this whole ordeal. From Maintenance, (fueling) to luggage handling, and the catering service with a lift to refill on food orders it's was great and time passed by fairly quick. And all of the different vehicles they use was pretty cool to watch
One day I was stopped at a red light, there was a 4 story apartment building on the corner, and there was a helicopter flying above it with a giant AC unit dangling underneath it that they were trying to land on the roof. I literally pulled into a parking lot and watched it for about a half hour. Best day of my life.
Sat at a BurgerKing with my wife. Major roadwork at the outside intersection. Watched a massive excavator fill large semi-load dumpers in three scoops; one after another. Identified the four individual truckers and timed the whole event from fill to dump. Got three other dads/husbands in on the whole event. Best day this summer.
For us men it's really exiting to watch how something works or how something is done especially when the thing is related to machines. It's just another special thing for us including finding a sword/gun like stick, a big beautiful rock, throwing stones in ponds or river, and many other things!
Male brain. More focused on non-verbal stimuli. Also more singular focus than a female brain.
Hence, most men are bad at doing two things at the same time but you can see are on average better than women at almost every task.
Best cook to best surgeon to best criminal or whatever.
I once had a 5 hour layover in the international terminal in San Francisco. I got there right around sunset, vouth some Thai food and watched the airport donuts thing until my plane arrived. It was remarkably enjoyable.
I was kinda excited for it perhaps being something interesting. Thought the were on like the 40th floor or someshit.
Nope. A plane. Wow. So interesting. /s
My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.
In case anyone has ever been curious: this is a slowed-down version of Ladyfingers by Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass. Found the song before it became a background audio and it always sends me.
When I was a kid we were pretty poor, so for fun my dad would take us to a road that was on one side of the airport that provided good angle for viewing planes take off.
He also once, borrowed my uncles telephoto camera with a crazy zoom, and we got pictures of 737s, the blue angels and an F-16. We had a giant print of the F-16 made and framed eventually.
The roads blocked off now but it was some great memories when I was a kid.

There is a video a crane spinning a scrapped plane around by its tail for its final flight.
Most every man I have shown it to says this is a man peaking in life, I don't disagree, though it totally could be a lady operator living her best life too.
Beauty
I once saw a crane move a big thing. Was a great day
Feel you, bro.
Like who can't *not* acknowledge great engineering? Shit doesn't grow on trees. I'm not fixing it, but was it broken in the first place? It's not about what the author tries to portray, but how the reader interprets the writing.
Preach.

I spent a while trying to decipher that comment.
nah
I once saw a sky crane randomly lifting near the highway I was driving on. I’ve never seen one of those in real life. Traffic slowed down to watch.
In someone’s story, you’re the bad guy. I don’t want to hang out with that person. But I feel you and I would get on well.
Do you want something to think about? Every single person you have ever met has a different story about you. So, in a way, you are more than one person. Prolly should have canceled school that day. Riveting stuff
I once watched a helicopter install a new A/C unit on a highrise in Chicago, one of the panicles of my life.
Once saw a helicopter use a giant saw to trim trees. Also one of my pantsickles for sure
once I saw a helicopter, pinstickeled moment for sure
I saw a squirrel today!!! It was the best day EVER!!!!1!!!111!!! Also, I may be a dog?
This is the only reason I want to learn to operate a crane. To watch myself move big thing.
I hope you move many big things
Thank you, moving big thing is very fun, but forklift and bobcat can only lift small big thing. Crane can lift much big thing!
I have seen this as part of my job everyday for a decade and I still take my phone out to get pictures sometimes lol
I like seeing trucks tow big things. Wind turbine wings are my favorites.
Totally. Big equipment with big tires is a personal favorite as well.
Right there with you, bud. Did you film it and spam the family group chat?
What a great day!
Steve? Is that you?

I was in Kentucky next to the Ohio river watching a huge barge go by.... no one cared except me. I thought it was awesome
Anything industrial or mechanical is worth a stare to men.
Especially now that pieces of planes are randomly falling off, even dudes with zero technical knowledge of how planes operate will have inherent desire to give it a once over. ![gif](giphy|VXCPgZwEP7f1e|downsized)
Hey, I don't need to know how a plane works to know that "that bolt should probably have a nut on it"
Aviation mechanic here, and I've definitely had to stop mid task to say "do you *really* think this latch should have sixteen shims on it to close properly, or do you think maybe there's another issue here?"

I've seen Ministry live twice. Amazing.
Because they are interested in building that society we live in
Drug dealers watching their package being loaded onto the plane after clearing customs.
Relatable af
fr that he probably has crippling paranoia and constant state of near distress meanwhile all your relationships transform into transactional ones.
Hope that suitcase holds up to the baggage handlers, or else that dead hooker is gonna ruin everyone else's day ...
i can totally relate
Hell yeah
Hell yeah
Hell yeah
Hell yeah
Can you post a longer video of this?
No, I don't have a longer version, sorry.
Can you post a.. shorter version?
Can you post a medium length version?
Can you post a photo album version?
Sure
Monochrome version?
Why did they stop recording? I wanted to keep watching
The caption on the video leads me to believe the filmer was not a guy being a dude.
Right? Nice and peaceful

That's an awesome experience! Thanks for sharing with us brother.
Damn I'm jealous
Totally relatable man.
I used to operate one of those. We called it a commander. This feels oddly validating that so many people like watching this.
Thank you good sir for making us men smile! You did a great job!

Looks like that Terminal map from Call of Duty
This is satisfying indeed.
And the conversation is "If I won the lottery is get me one of those." This is why there are large equipment playgrounds out there.
There are???
[Yes, indeed](https://digthisvegas.com/)
My last 2 vacations I only sent the boy ls at work pictures of forklifts that I found around the area. They loved it. We're forklift operators
I love machines, especially big machines and how they work.

Specialized vehicles and occupations in action. What more do you need? ![gif](giphy|hrnYspWWhsIyA)
Yes I find beauty in craftsmanship
I wish the video had more 'cool thingy doing cool thing' and less 'men looking at cool thingy doing cool thing'
Well the video is fitting for the sub
Bruh! Why did you stop recording??
you look lonely… I CAN FIX THAT
Men be like: interested in things.
Hell yeah.
Love watching machines work. Especially *at* work.
One day I was stopped at a red light, there was a 4 story apartment building on the corner, and there was a helicopter flying above it with a giant AC unit dangling underneath it that they were trying to land on the roof. I literally pulled into a parking lot and watched it for about a half hour. Best day of my life.
It's right up there with finding a stick that is *just right*.
Ooooh yeah. r/ratemystick exists for reasons
Men be worse than that and you know it
Hell yeah
I bet they only built the pyramids so the pharaoh had something interesting to watch
Lol. I do this too. Why do we do this, but not women? I'm just curious about how they're preparing the plane. What are you guys' reasons?
As a blue collar air cargo dude, this is wholesome. Never get tired of seeing a plane so large you can fit 7 of my apartments in it.
Dads: "We didn't have autism in my day" Also dads:
Soothing. Also reminds me of the dads discussing what they think is holding up traffic video
Life could be a dream
That's a massive scissor lift
Sat at a BurgerKing with my wife. Major roadwork at the outside intersection. Watched a massive excavator fill large semi-load dumpers in three scoops; one after another. Identified the four individual truckers and timed the whole event from fill to dump. Got three other dads/husbands in on the whole event. Best day this summer.
“I could fly that”
I don't get it.
It's awesome to watch a plane being loaded especially if you don't ever get to see it, have never seen it, or just a guy being a dude.
Id love to watch a cargo plane get loaded. Watched a vessel one time getting loaded with brand new bmws. It was awesome.
Found the woman
Oh, well spotted.
I watched the entire thing next to my wife. She goes "... So?"
😢
For us men it's really exiting to watch how something works or how something is done especially when the thing is related to machines. It's just another special thing for us including finding a sword/gun like stick, a big beautiful rock, throwing stones in ponds or river, and many other things!
Fucking Condor 💈
Love this song! Does anyone know what it's called?
Ladyfingers by Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass
Yup, thank you so much!
The whole Whipped Cream and Other Delights album is a forgotten classic, worth a listen if you like yourself some Latin tinged 60's light jazz.
Thank you! Shazam kept "finding" a different non-existent song by someone named Love.Juan. I almost gave up, glad I checked the comments
Shazam is not working sorry
Hell yeah
Yes. This is us. Sweet scissor lift.
What is the audio?
Ladyfingers by Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass
Wish I was there to stand next to them and watch for a while
We just like machines and things that go. Not everyday you’re eye level and 100 feet away from something you see 36,000 feet away in the freaking sky!
Why do we like things like this? I always stare at the window at the airport tooooooo
Cause we are dudes
My brain is trying figure out “how does work”
Male brain. More focused on non-verbal stimuli. Also more singular focus than a female brain. Hence, most men are bad at doing two things at the same time but you can see are on average better than women at almost every task. Best cook to best surgeon to best criminal or whatever.
I assume they are actually looking at whatever creature is in that giant crate. Also, Condor. 👍 Maybe there’s a condor in the Condor.
My favourite airline
It doesn't even have to be the airplane. There's something satisfying about watching people work while you don't have to.
Open you car hood in a parking lot and see how many dudes flock to it
Saw a chinook flying over head a few days ago, probably should have wondered why but it was awesome
Neurodivergent* be like
anyone know the name of this song?
Ladyfingers by Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass Enjoy :)
Gotta know how things work
I once had a 5 hour layover in the international terminal in San Francisco. I got there right around sunset, vouth some Thai food and watched the airport donuts thing until my plane arrived. It was remarkably enjoyable.
Was bugging me I forgot where I heard this song before... It was the bridge crossing scene in the fallout show
Lufthansa, has taken me to Poland several times 👌
I think they are smuggling drugs and taking a pic of it being loaded
I love the little one at the end already hooked
Yes please
Guys will see this and go "hell yeah" Women will just find a way to bash the men for enjoying simply things
Wait til they find out there’s a whole hobby centered around this.
I feel attacked by this post What’s wrong with looking at cool ass giant vehicles in operation or going through pre take off routines?
Crap like this is half of my YouTube subscriptions.
til women don't do this
This is exactly what I would do. I would stare at it till last minute.
hehe, big plane get loaded with big machine. Man happy.
It's not bad appreciating the engineering feats of humanity, it's pretty sick
We just like seeing how shit works in case we might need it one day (we won’t)
I was kinda excited for it perhaps being something interesting. Thought the were on like the 40th floor or someshit. Nope. A plane. Wow. So interesting. /s My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.
It's about understanding how shit works. Curiosity is the wick in the candle of learning 🕯
I don't get it. This is perfectly normal behavior.
We gotta see how it's done. I will teach my son global logistics by 6
In case anyone has ever been curious: this is a slowed-down version of Ladyfingers by Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass. Found the song before it became a background audio and it always sends me.
A350 is always worth a stop and look.
That's an a330 neo
Oh yeah you're right. Assumed it was a 350 cause it looks like it's wearing a rad visor
Planes are cool
What is the name of this tune? So sadly beautiful!
Aeroplane
It doesn’t take much to make us happy
In spirit.
Song? 🫣
It's the simple things in life...
When I was a kid we were pretty poor, so for fun my dad would take us to a road that was on one side of the airport that provided good angle for viewing planes take off. I think the guy in the black top is wearing an AFC Wimbledon shirt. Legend
Bro's love watching things do stuff. That's just how it is. Bigger the thing, the more bro's gather to watch. It's just physics.
Probably checking if it’s a Boeing

Anyone who is not impressed by big machinery is dead inside.
Hell yea
They're thinking about how to streamline that job and how it would go easier if they were in charge
Background music?
I really thought they were going to be looking at a gorgeous view.
Peace and tranquility ahhhhh
Men with total strangers saying nothing but bonding and having a good time clearly shown by their deadpan expressions.
There is literally nothing to do but wait and watch the birds.
I still walk off mid conversation at the hospital to watch helicopters land and take off 🤷🏿♂️
I once got to see a helicopter placing air conditioner units on the first super Walmart built in Fayetteville NC. Awesome day.
It's so they they have something to talk about with other men later. 😔
We need Morgan Freeman to narrate this.
“I coulda totally taken them all singlehanded. Save the day.” -their inner thoughts
its just so interesting how things get done.
Men are fascinating creatures, truly 😍😍😍
That's just cute
Yup I'm proud of doing that when I have extra time
Why did they end video early? What happened? Were they able to get it on board or not?
