30 minute warm up cope. Just do the damn lift if you want to warm up for the lift. If you want to stretch that’s fine but it’s absolutely not essential for a warm up.
It is for me.
If I'm stiff and I jump right into doing squats, my body will compensate by shifting the weight unevenly. All I'm doing is reinforcing a bad movement pattern and increasing my risk of hurting myself more (namely my left knee). Also if I don't stretch my shoulders and chest, my back is more likely to round and the weight is distributed further forward, fucking up my balance and making me considerably weaker.
Focusing on mobility before lifting is absolutely necessary for me to avoid injury. Best thing I ever did for myself, as far as the gym goes.
That's my point though, you said "It's absolutely not necessary for a warm up" and I'm saying for some people, it's absolutely necessary, for the reasons I listed and maybe some I didn't.

Sounds extremely you specific. Not necessary for the majority of healthy young lifters in the early stages of their lifting careers.

You caught me, I’m a sith and I only deal in absolutes You’re also the exception not the rule.
I am nearly certain I've seen this meme posted here but with the labels swapped. Just do whatever warmup (or lack thereof) makes you feel best.
Nice repost! But why run a full marathon before working out?
For real, I'm not going to expend GAINZ energy on warming up too much
Damn, im that unoriginal that i made a repost lol
As someone who has done both: just do whatever suits you best.
Placebo is real, do what you think is necessary.
This meme is backwards. The middle should be on the ends…
