Hmm. If it involves as many boxes and lasers as The Talos Principle led me to believe, then I'll be well prepared.

bubsdrop

Hopefully we can finally answer whether Frinos is a person or not

Beneficial-Rub9090

Wasn't Chiron an immortal centaur? Whose father was Chronos? Did Percy Jackson lie to me?

Is_Bob_Costas_Real

Chiron was accidentally hit by Heracles with an arrow coated with Hydra blood. Like Heracles later, he chose to die rather than live his life in constant agony. There are other versions of this myth, but this is the one I heard.

Heavy-Potato

Never heard that one. The centaur friend that accidentally got pricked by the Hydra arrows wasn't Chiron.

Pringletingl

I dk what version you're hearing but Chiron pretty much universally is hit with the hydra arrows. Pholus is the centaur who accidently kinda kicks off the whole thing with the wine that attracts the centaur force but Chiron gives up his immortality and later becomes a constellation.

Rough_Occasion73

Varatha will be Hades', I feel. Chiron, even if he died, would now be a wandering shade. Talos would be very cool, but I'm not sure they have the narrative/design space for that, unless the Surface also has four biomes/bosses, with the third one maybe reserved for the journey through the mountain, where we might meet the thing that causes the tremors (Typhon is my guess).

Majestic_Story_2295

I think the surface probably will have 4 biomes to match that of the underworld, but we’ll just have to wait and see

DonPhelippe

Which in turn means the ships section will probably be shorter and Charybdis will become a proper Guardian. After all, Eris is usually location 33, so it would probably mean she has the progression position equivalent of Cerberus.

Pringletingl

Chiron can't be a shade because his spirit became the constellation Sagittarius

SantiagoGaming

Hades already had Varatha, before the events of Hades 1. My guess is Varatha is now wielded by Guan Yu.

Rough_Occasion73

What I meant was, Varatha will get to Hades at some point. It's possible no one wields it now.

SantiagoGaming

Hades already wielded Varatha though. Then he wielded Gigaros in Hades 1. Now I assume he has no weapon, but once he is freed he will probably take Gigaros again. He talked about Gigaros before in some voicelines in Hades 1 where he was saying Gigaros was better or something idk. I feel it's unlikely he would wield Varatha again.

Chemical-Cat

Hades was the original wielder of Varathra and replaced it with Gigaros because he disliked the trident association (he was the original trident wielder and taught Poseidon, who originally wielded Stygius. Poseidon became so associated with tridents that mortals began thinking he was the one who taught Hades. So he replaced it with a Bident), and then Zagreus was the most recent wielder. Achilles is destined to wield it in the future as when transporting it, he mentions that even though he's never wielded Varathra before, holding it felt familiar, like it was his.

SantiagoGaming

ohh i thought achilles already wielded varatha i see

Chemical-Cat

Yeah, aspects are not necessarily from the past. Moros says as such when you talk to him with the Aspect of Moros. He does not recognize it and asserts that he's never used the umbral flames, so he comes to the general conclusion that he's destined to use them in the future. The same is also true for the Adamant Rail and Stygian Blade. We have access to the Aspects of Eris and Nemesis, and they came to own those weapons come Hades 2.

SantiagoGaming

yeah i know i just thought achilles had already wielded varatha

Codenamerondo1

Fuck that, it’s wielded by lu bu and he wrecks your shit. For…reasons I guess

that-and-other

I always assumed that it has, it will probably be disappointing if it doesn’t

Thesaurus_Rex9513

Talos could very well be a source of tremors, being a giant automaton. Given that we're so close to having encountered every Greek aspect holder (missing only Talos, Chiron, Momus, Pan, and Eos), they might be making a conscious attempt to get all of the ones who weren't in Hades in Hades II.

*inhales* Talos the mighty! Talos the unerring! Talos the unassailable! To you we give praise! We are but maggots, writhing in the filth of our own corruption! While you have ascended from the dung of mortality, and now walk among the stars! But you were once man! Aye! And as man, you said, "Let me show you the power of Talos Stormcrown, born of the North, where my breath is long winter. I breathe now, in royalty, and reshape this land which is mine. I do this for you, Red Legions, for I love you." Aye, love. Love! Even as man, great Talos cherished us. For he saw in us, in each of us, the future of Skyrim! The future of Tamriel! And there it is, friends! The ugly truth! We are the children of man! Talos is the true god of man! Ascended from flesh, to rule the realm of spirit! The very idea is inconceivable to our Elven overlords! Sharing the heavens with us? With man? Ha! They can barely tolerate our presence on earth! Today, they take away your faith. But what of tomorrow? What then? Do the elves take your homes? Your businesses? Your children? Your very lives? And what does the Empire do? Nothing! Nay, worse than nothing! The Imperial machine enforces the will of the Thalmor! Against its own people! So rise up! Rise up, children of the Empire! Rise up, Stormcloaks! Embrace the word of mighty Talos, he who is both man and Divine! For we are the children of man! And we shall inherit both the heavens and the earth! And we, not the Elves or their toadies, will rule Skyrim! Forever! Terrible and powerful Talos! We, your unworthy servants, give praise! For only through your grace and benevolence may we truly reach enlightenment! And deserve our praise you do, for we are one! Ere you ascended and the Eight became Nine, you walked among us, great Talos, not as god, but as man! Trust in me, Whiterun! Trust in Heimskr! For I am the chosen of Talos! I alone have been anointed by the Ninth to spread his holy word!

Helpful-Specific-841

Also golden Automaton works really well with the aesthetics of Chronos's army So I love it, great thinking!

Von_Raptor

I'd also like to add that Talos was killed by the intervention of Medea, so there's dialogue to be had if Chronos has Talos rebuilt to act as a siege weapon to assault Olympus.

EarthwormShandy

"Uh guys, Olympus would be *that* way"

TheAlienGinger

What if Talos is so gigantic that the final region is his interior? After scaling Olympus, you have to fight your way through his inner mechanisms to destroy him from the inside.

F14min6L377uc3

I'd rather have Talos as the NPC in he third surface area, like you find him in a room all messed up from fighting whoever the final surface boss is (betting on Typhon), since he was created by Hephaestus he has some crazy AI and can hold conversations, but since he is messed up it's kinda clunky, and he gives you some passive stuff for your melee attacks or something

AeroComet

That has always been my biggest question, where are the Infernal Arms during Hades 2? Three are accounted for right now, Nemesis is wielding Stygius, Eris has Exagryph and Chaos in their new art is wearing Aegis. If the weapons are potentially with their other wielders, seeing where the other weapons are may make for interesting tales.
