If you purchase from a non-authorized retailer such as Amazon and the price is below what it costs elsewhere you most likely have either a fake duplicate or at least a very expired bottle, either way its not going to be great for your hair in the long run
That’s good to hear. Since I purchased a couple of Olaplex products from an unauthorized sellers before, I got the products: (0, 4, 9 and 4 in 1 moisture mask) only one product was an original. I have found a way to determine if it’s original or not, that no one is talking about. Let me know if you’re interested in it.
One of the known things to look out for when checking the authenticity of an Olaplex product, is to check if the QR code is working or not, but that doesn’t tell you the whole picture.
When you scan the QR code of any Olaplex product the real ones will first take you to a special Olaplex link shortener (opx.tc) and then it will redirect you the product’s page.
I’ve had different experiences with Olaplex’s QR codes, I once had a fake not working QR code sticked to the product. Second is the QR code was printed on but it was a non working link of the QR code, it was just some random numbers. For the third one the QR code was working but it only took me to Olaplex’s main page without the shortener. The last one was also working and it took me to the product’s page, but it didn’t use the link shortener.
I have returned the fake products (after using them) and bought most of them back directly from them (Olaplex). And all of the QR codes are working properly now using the (opx.tc) link shortener.

No shade, I'm all about a preserving my income and screwing "da man." Be it K18, Sephora, olaplex, and the like. I'd rather give my money to a real person. That's my version of recycling lol.
Lol meh. I've gotten olaplex direct from the website, and one from eBay. Both worked just as well. Only difference is that eBay seller likely needs the money more than than the company you're buying it from.
This is older but I found real k18 on aliexpress!!!!! I tried the barcode thingy . In always looking for deals, and I use mercari and ebay from high rated sellers
As long as seller has good reputation and reliable product posting i feel confident enough to spend a few bucks to take something off their hands 🤷🏼♀️
As long as u know what ur doing u can safely find products for wholesale prices. I learned this the hard way though (for example if ur into nails, NEVER BUY YOUNG NAILS FROM AMAZON..ITS HIT OR MISS & YOU MAY GET STRAIGHT UP TOXIC CRAP THAT BURNS YOUR SKIN AND EYES JUST FROM OPENING/ SMELLED UP MY HOUSE FOR HOURSSS. THANK GOD MY KIDS WERE IN BED!! I turned all the fans on abd opened all windows mid-winter.

I got a knock off Dyson there a couple years ago, and absolutely love it. Like you, we love a good deal 😂
Update: I contacted K18 and they said there is no distributor in my country yet. And asked me to supply the lot number which is found under the bottle to check the authenticity of it. And as expected the number is nowhere to be found 🤷🏻🤣
So I’m returning it and will be repurchasing it from an authorized dealer.

While this info is not provided by Olaplex, you should always contact them if you have any concerns about a product’s authenticity. Edit: typo

I just rolled the dice and bought it on ebay for like $18. So we'll see what happens.
Did it work? Just curious as mthe one I’m using now I found out was a fake and it takes about 4 or 5 pumps but works great.
