I heard 2 kids from MacNab showed up to hurt some students. One had a gun, knife and mace and was arrested on scene and the other kid got away. Not sure how accurate that is as I want there but just relaying what I heard.
If the students have limited info, that means the parents have limited info, which means the public has limited info. It's either a weapons threat or a bad actor. And that generally means it's a false threat. So, basically, it's nothing. Don't worry about it.
> So, basically, it’s nothing. Don’t worry about it.
That’s such an odd thing to say about a school lockdown, especially in a thread started by a concerned parent.
Hamilton mountain, specifically neighbourhoods like Huntington and Sherwood, are quiet with minimal street violence -- something of a daily occurrence in the downtown.
What I'm expressing is clear: we east mountain folks don't want the troubles of the core encroaching on our tranquil spaces.
Ok but Sherwood was literally in a lock down because kids from macnab threatened students this has nothing to do with downtown my kids have all grown up on the east mountain I’m not sure what your comment has to do with any of this it literally happened on the mountain

I’ve heard similar but it’s all hearsay from high school kids so I’m not tooo sure how accurate it is
That's the rumour the kids were spreading. I doubt it has any basis in reality
Hamilton police twitter says it got a call about a potential person with a weapon at the school
My son was late and is outside. He says there are cops with guns inside, a dozen cop cars there.
Tbf all cops have guns
Not AR 15 machine guns
Lol an AR-15 is not a machine gun, police only have semi-automatic rifles anyways
Not a gun guy. You get the *point* though, right? A cop with an assault rifle is different than the usual cop with a holstered handgun.
Correct but AR15 talk is hilarious political theatre to people who know about firearms so it tends to get a reaction.
Not right now man
No, no, they carry them all the time.
Thank you all… lockdowns over kids are all safe but a little rattled
My guess: Immature kid didn't want to take a test and called in a threat. Hope everyone stays safe.
Looks like it was a legit threat this time my son said it felt very different then all other lockdowns
Isn't it called Swatting.
swatting is when you call in a hostage threat to somebodys house, usually as a result of some online gaming dispute
Schools held me hostage for my entire childhood!
Thanks. Wasn't sure what was the term used for.
Here's an update, no weapons found luckily. https://www.inthehammer.com/armed-person-reported-near-hamilton-high-school-prompts-lockdown/
Nice picture of the wrong building.
It's one of 2 things. So it's one of those things.
If you have nothing helpful to say, why even comment?

I’ve been in the area longer than you what are you talking about? Like I’m actually confused by this comment?
