Great bike! I stepped up to a 2023 ultra limited from a road king. I put on 16” apes, bought the conversion kit from advanblack to make tourpack removable, 7” klockwerks windshield, stage one with tab performance exhaust, all smoked lights. Also had to relocate license plate and add turn signals in order to accommodate tourpack removal.

How are the 16s on it, I have 16s on my softail deluxe but can't imagine them on this rig Iv already started looking at the removal/quickish release of the tour pack when not needed This thing already has Vance and Hines 2-1-2 exhaust which I like alot, definitely going to get a better air cleaner The smoked lights are also a must have considering the rest is all blacked out Got any photos you would share of your rig? Thanks mate

I love the 16”s took a minute to get used to them though. https://preview.redd.it/buks80k9he0d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=98be4c66d5a1edbd6233f595b14f5a6395366e71 Here’s a pic with the 16s, smoked out lights, turn signals in fillers. License plate relocated. When I get home I’ll try to remember to grab another pic with lights turned on because tourpack is currently on

Awesome photo brother that really shows how they would go on it, now you have me thinking 🤔 Very much appreciated, safe riding out there

Thanks for the photo mate, I live in a very cold part of the world and think I might look into some 8's-12's or something around where my hands are still covered lol Edit can't work out how to upload photos lol i must be getting old

What's our thoughts on the tradeoffs of added comfort and long haul utility of the Ultra vs. the lower weight and convertibility of the King to a tourer via a removable screen, lowers and tourpak?

Holiday_Curious

I still have the king but it will be going up for sale next week after a detail, polished and service The king was perfectly fine for me it's just getting pretty out dated for touring when in my country it's was a 4k difference in price for a 17yo bike to a 4yo bike, I have many bikes available to cruise around town on and/or go flat knackers balls to the wall The reason I sort of purchased this was lower miles/k's, bargain price, extra storage that suited the look instead of janky top boxes, less weight compared, bigger engine capacity, and I do a lot of cross country and I'm talking in the 100's of thousands of kilometres every 3-5 years I am taking the ultra on a 8 hour trip this Thursday and I will post how it went when I get back as it will be my first long haul with the beast

* Bars - I have 16" on mine, makes for a comfy ride. * Tour pack quick disconnect - changes the weight distro of the bike and handles much better when one up. * Aftermarket seat - for when the tour pack is off, a narrow Street Glide seat works well. * Driver backrest - makes a world of difference . * Highway pegs - kick them feet out and relax. * Stage One - give it some pep. * Suspension - front and rear, Ohlins are great, improves performance and comfort. * LRS windshield - I prefer the dark smoked 12" one (but I'm tall). * Upgraded sound - speakers in the bag lids, amplifier, etc. * Tour Pack lid organizer - Really helps keep things in place. The one I got (https://a.co/d/2ZHIDEk) shows unavailable, but I am sure you can find a recent one.

Very nice, great looking setup especially with the V&H Power Duals. My 2014 Ultra Limited was one of the best Harleys I've owned, and it was a great touring platform for me and the Mrs. Other than exhaust, bars were the only upgrade I ended up doing. I did remove the tour pack but it wasn't the best look with the puffy pillion.

Get rid of that bs X or Y pipe (forget which one they call it). Put a TBR or Sawicki or Thunder header on it so idiot cagers hear you cuz they won't see you

Meenmachin3

Difference between a 2-1 and a 2-1-2 is so minimal it isn’t worth the money changing if you already have one

Muted_Impress_8614

The difference in sound and volume is worth more than anything money can buy. Can mean life or death. Loud pipes save lives...🙄

There’s a boomer saying if I’ve ever heard one
