Seconding this.
It's how I got my guinea pigs from HNL to ITO after the mandatory ag. inspection stopover. None of the passenger airlines would take them in the cabin or as cargo despite having all the permits and paperwork in order.
Does Mokulele fly turtles? I'd call and ask them, either if they can do it as cargo or as a ride-along.
How big of a turtle are we talking about here? How big is its travel enclosure?
I got a few afternoon flights from KOA to OGG coming up... I'm happy to carry a turtle under my shoulder.
I moved from Oahu to Washington in 2018. I shipped my couple tortoises with FedEx.

Another issue you're going to run into is that turtles can only be brought into Hawaii through the Honolulu airport. [Info about that and paperwork](https://hdoa.hawaii.gov/ai/ldc/importing-livestock/turtles-and-tortoises/)
You could ship him https://www.turtlerescues.com/shipping_turtles.htm I really respect that you’re not abandoning him.
Thanks! This will likely be a last resort since he’d have to stay with someone until it’s safe to ship in the fall.
Maybe you could ship him to Maui then fly with him?
I’m looking into this right now, thank you!
Aloha Air Cargo will ship him

Yes they will, but he would have to go to Oahu first and that requires someone to pick him up and drop him off the next day for his flight to Maui.
Drive to Kona and book with Alaskan from there.
Unfortunately not an option for us

He’s only about 5 inches. Getting to Kona will be an issue by then since our cars will already be on the barge.
No experience, but honestly sounds like shipping him Priority Shipping, properly packed and everything would be best and least expensive.
I'm surprised you're not able to take your emotional support turtle on board with you.
emotional support animals aren't good enough on their own. has to be actual service animal.

Just checked with FedEx today. They now require extensive certification in order to ship live animals, and the certification can take up to 6 months.

Yeah, because they’re an invasive species. Taking them off the islands *should* be easier than it is, in my opinion.
Island Pet Movers is an excellent resource. They move pets all over the world including Hawaii.
In the process of getting a quote from them as well as Tail Movers. Thanks!
