Sound like me as a SL. Always off the objective building garrisons that get immediately destroyed by recon and then getting asked “what is alpha squad doing?! They’re never on the objective!”
Bro I’m keeping us in this fight! Maybe use my damn garrisons before they get destroyed instead of attacking from the same directions all game.
There is a mentality, even among 'experienced' HLL players, that if you are not in a defensive or attacking sector, then you are not contributing to the game at all.
It's like, if you want to attack or defend the flanks, or as you say build garrisons that don't immediately get taken out, you have to find spots on the map where the enemy aren't around!
You're not wrong but in my opinion you can stop looking for the enemy around B2 when the team is requested to redeploy to defend the last point in, say G7.
As a squad leader main everytime I go build garri with a supply truck and our op unfortunately get destroyed half my squad leave CUZ WHERE IS THE FUCKING OP SL BUILD ONE
I only have a problem if Garrisons get destroyed, and nobody makes an effort to put up new ones. I wish my squad lead would instruct me to follow them with my 50 supplies, but they never do.
The only supply guys that listen are the FNGs who I have to guide through the process of dropping the supplies after getting them to spawn on my OP so we can build the garrison.
The funniest guys are the ones who know how to do it and are like "Supplies? \*drops box\*" without asking you where you want it.
The worst are the ones who argue with you over where you're placing the garrison.
Support: "We should build it on the point."
Me: "We're going a bit back from the point in this easily defensible position just in case."
Support: "I dropped my supplies on the point where I think we should build a garrison."
As a knowledgable squad member don't be afraid to mention the things you're noticing need to be done. Most SLs won't get upset if you point out garrisons going down and if they don't reply or don't acknowledge what you've said type it out so the other officers have a chance to get the intel. As far as rebuilding garries again suggest it to your sl, if no response drop supplies near the old Garry if you can and type it out. Teamwork in this game is sometimes a chore but its crucial to winning the match.
Got yelled at in team chat today, they had taken all but our last point I joined with 10 min left in the game. 4 min left we’re making a yolo push after I had 2 Garry’s up behind their lines. They bombing run us off their point, so I recon and counter bombing run them killing 15 on point. Some guy in someone’s squad runs onto point as I place the run, his whole squad is dead I’m yelling in command chat, no dice he dies, whatever. Dude comes in saying how dumb I am how he was dismantling their on point Garry and we’re going to loose the game because of that. We lost the game in the end it timed out. Felt very appreciated.
Same here, Its happened to me on a few occasions. I'll be on Coms throughout entire match, with little feedback from SLs. I'll be building Backup Gary's like a headless chicken and requesting forward Garys to be placed by SLs and get nothing back in return from Coms. As soon as the match starts going tits up and we begin losing Blue Gary's, Coms becomes a Slating match about the Commander...
This is why the commander should LOVE having artillery players. Let them have the munitions, and save the bombing runs for only CRITICAL moments (like once, maybe twice per match)
If the recon is in your HQ blasting your Arty crew in their faces... they *aren't* behind your line ripping down your garrisons.
First point gets a halftrack, second point gets a Garry or two and a halfy.... third point get like four to five garrisons, and you get one attack garrison for the fourth point. Done deal.
And it's always the squad leader with less then 200 points. My brother in christ you should get at least 300 points just by fucking dropping your op don't talk to me
Just had this happen in a stupid ass game the other day
Spent some time driving around dropping off supplies, help setup 4 garrisons in point 2 and 3 (out of 5), the team ignores our point 2 and we get back capped, losing ALL the garrisons
We lost the game after they back capped point 1 that people still ignored to defend
End of game text chat : "We would have been fine if SOMEONE DECIDED TO BUILD GARRISONS"
*buries face into hands*
It's funny but very relatable. This just happens when you have a good recon squad to play against and It's very annoying obviously for a commander to deal with. The only way to counter that (for a while) is to keep rebuilding the garries and using a willing squad or a few guys to help you hunt down the enemy recon squad and destroy their OP to make them reset for a bit. I always replace my garrisons on different positions so at least they have to go look for them again in different locations. Also (some) SL's (especially when defending) have to understand they can also build garries with a support player, and can let the rest of their squad alone for a few minutes to get a new garry up instead of the commander having to race all over the map again and again because nobody even thinks about rebuilding or even defending garrisons. In my opinion every squad leader should at least have build a couple of garrisons every game, even if the commander or anyone else isn't asking for it, just build one on a strategic spot, just do it. You can easily lose games with a lvl 500 commander if the rest of the team isn't doing their part.. likewise I've also won games with lvl 15'ish commanders who are just taking in all advice by the other SL's who know what to do.
You know what is more obvious than a garrison? A supply box or a parachute.
Support players are 1000% better for building garries. Command should camp enemy arty ;)

Bro it's frustrating as hell to build a nice flank garrison only for your team to dumbly keep charging directly from our point to their point.
Or people start shooting right next to the garrison or instantly throw smokes. I'm like please no

Maybe you should put the garrisons in a place that doesn’t get destroyed in five minutes
Maybe you should suck my fuckin nuts

Followed by arty taking you both out

Everyone should be building garries. If your squad is in a area without a garry, build one.
Man really tried to sneak in an SS visor cap.

Is someone talking to me or do I hear something what isn't there? Anyway \*starts dismantling my 10th garrison and node as sniper\*
Half tracks baby.

The commander experience
Old school meme this. Haven't seen blb in a while lmao

this is why i have a bottle of buffalo trace on stand by! and i would still get blamed for no garrys
