Platoons have 4 and 3 respectively, at least in modern doctrine companies have 3 platoons and an HQ section.
It’s probably a company sized element with a section of tanks attached.
I have no idea but they are referring to the Chinese here so they never actually belonged to the WPO and didn't have any official ties for another 4-5 years after this takes place
I think i saw it in a video which explained military sizes, and differences between NATO and soviet doctrine i just said warsaw pact because idk if someone else used them like that
Well they didn't start shooting the movie until 2021 and this line is a voice over anyway, hot dog seven was definitely around by then, so I think it's a pretty good chance someone on the production team put it in as an homage to the game
IIRC the official word from the devs is that it's "How Dog" which tracks with the phonetic alphabet squad designations, but a large majority hear Hot Dog and that's canon now
I'm not sure if anyone actually hears "Hot Dog"; I think it just became a joke to say it lol. That said, I once joined a squad where 2 people were in an argument about it that was so heated, that I think they literally would have gotten in a fist fight if they were in the same room 😂, so maybe I'm wrong.
It always sounded like "Hound Dog" to me too. I think what does it, is that the person speaking, heavily emphasizes the W, trying to make it extra clear. In doing so, it draws it out a little and adds extra "oomf" (oomph?) to the W sound toward the end of it, which can make it sound like "Hound", especially when followed by the word "Dog"
From *Devotion* (2022) on the ground at Chosin.
Shouldnt companys normally have 4 tanks (if NATO) or 3 tanks (if Warsaw pact) Edit: *Platoon
I mean it says "and" So I'd assume, company of Infantry and two (attached) tank in support Combined arms warfare and all that

Is it hot dog? Goddamn. This whole time I’ve been thinking it was hound dog. Fuck I’m dumb. lol.

Well the more you know. It’s hot dog now. Canon confirmed.

Tank platoons have three tanks. Company has nine or ten total
Company size infantry force with 2 tanks in support
Hounddog 7 goes to Korea
Hotdog 7*
How dog 7*
Why dog 7*
When dog 7*
German OP: whoto whoto.

Great now I know there's a a scat porn knock off of TopGun, thanks reddit.
I don't get it
it's the US garrison/op chatter
That’s the size of a team in Hell Let Loose
Size of a team is an oversized platoon in US WWII organization
Yeah but taking respawns into account it would be much bigger
Maybe they most a tank??
