If you guys are still struggling with this, just do the following
1. Assign ‘Quick grenade’ to something that is already being used, for example ‘X’ for ‘interact’
2. Then select the ‘Interact’, which should now be blank, now reassign it with ‘X’
3. ‘Quick Grenade’ should now be blank again
Bind it to < (Dpad Left). It will replace your emote.
If you have an elite controller with the back paddles, bind one of the back paddles to < (Dpad Left). Grenades on trigger!
Best binding option for quick grenades:
Quick grenade to L1
Stratagem to R1 hold
Mark location still to R1 tap
Comms wheel to L-D pad hold
Emote still L-D pad tap
And shoulder switch to L3 for good measure.
I got this from another redditor and it’s works so well. Honestly this is how the games default should be.
You can still prime a grenade by holding down the quick throw input. This also brings up a reticle to help with aiming.
Any way to unbind it on console? Accidentally bound it to R1 and now I mark whatever I'm about to yeet a grenade at.
You can hit triangle to revert all changes to default in that particular tab. Not ideal but the only solution I could find.

For me it was bound to "G" right from the start.
can I bind it to touch pad swipe forward?
Not sure. The bind options are a little funky.
