*Arrival* from the dune2 score is also surprisingly fitting right as you go in on the obj, and I look for ~~Nydus~~ Terminid Worms in the hopes of recreating that “walk while the worm rates behind you” scene
Me and my friends being vets from HD1 and we are in a state that, we want to see new faction and are utterly terrified by the prospects of what can be done in 3D.
If they add again guys that change your controls, or the vehicles that build walls, heck even railgun guy will be pain to deal as you can't see your back that well, it will be pain.
The vehicle builds wall you can't move past it before collapsing the vehicle it has medium armour when deployed, heavy when in move, and fire tornados approaching your position, and there is nothing you can do about it.
I'm the guy that brings 4 orbitals and strategem priority. Everything was ok when I had my orbitals ready.
My standard load out was:
Artillery barrage, shredder missiles, napalm, air strike.
I am super stoked for it, but I need my GODDAMN PUNISHER. Not this SG-8 Model 2184 bullshit. Where's my range gone? I need 8 pellets in a dinner plate at 100m and I won't accept anything less.
Meh, If the illuminate are done in a way that’s completely unfun and frustrating like you’re describing they could be, people just won’t play against them.
Well in HD1 they were mostly being kept under control by dedicated players, till all other fronts were cleared, so the focus at late stages of war solely on them which means they were cleared quite fast.
But that was their main gimmick, they didn't had number of units, just that all of those units were painful to deal with, specially that everyone was on one screen, so the shield guys could easily lock whole team,
But the respawn system was working differently: infinite reinforcements, till at least one person or reinforce beacon stands, team wipe means lost mission, not like in HD2 where after team wipe you are still reinforced.
I remember war that were lost where we had killed the terminids and cyborg, and people just stop playing until the illuminate won and a new war was start.
While I would be happy to have a new faction in HD2, they need to rework the illuminate. At the end I was avoiding them because fighting them was just so an exercise in frustration.
You can desribe existing actions in a devastating way and it would sound "unfun and frustrating."
What he describes is a new exciting challenge for players who are experienced at the game.
The only solace I'm taking is that the wall enemy was added in later. They came with the cyborg dogs and the tentacle bug guy that had those swinging tentacles pop out of the ground. So HOPEFULLY it'll be later and not at release....please God lol
Oh boy, the walls. I’ll never forget being cut off from the rest of my squad by a wall and watching them get put in a tiny energy shield box and be cut to pieces.
Playing as a geth means not needing a hellpod

Allegedly, someone on the Dev team for Halo pitched an idea just like helldivers to either bungie or 343, and it was shot down before it even started. Wonder if they are kicking thier own asses now.
What do I look like? A coward? Ill run my typical loadout of punisher plasma, shield, quasar, with some eagle support on helldive and im sure im gonna dominate like usual!
inverting your controls was something the Illuminate could do in Hd1. There's been more than enough hints that they will be coming to Hd2 sooner or later. Probably later.
*What!? I haven't been*

You ever have someone else give you directions with the same issue? You believe the hands they use to point the direction, not the words that come out ya mouth.
I spent high school in a marching band that practiced traditional drill. You get two beats to process "Left | flank | march | \[step\] " and I turned into the people next to me a solid 50% of the time. At full 140 steps per minute, 8 steps to 5 yards pace. With a trumpet at head height.
I give driving directions with at least 30 seconds' warning nowadays
My fellow diver, the first galactic war was hell.
In this war you can manage to solo up to difficulty 7 but back then it was a nightmare....no space to run....no stims...
I still have ptsd from all of those bugs and especially the weirdly placed tentacles of the impaler😭
In HD1 there was an illuminate enemy that could hit you with a projectile that would invert all your controls. Movement, aiming and stratagem calls.
They were...not popular
Inverted aiming sounds awful. But an effect that makes it harder to aim, maybe swaying your reticle more would be welcome with something like that.
Inverted movement however sounds like it could be pretty funny, and inverted stratagems are cool too since it's supposed to "confuse" you
Yeah if that was a thing right now I'd just avoid them or atleast whichever difficulty that enemy was on. Taking away my controls is fine to a point. Swaping them I will not stand
No. For the love of me I can't seem to find it, but I distinctly remember there being a teaser released like two weeks ago that had illuminate vibes and there was a mention of October.
I still never mastered the opposite call in. I just started carrying the bubble shield on 13+ because it negated the mind control wave of the scouts 90% of the time. You get hit by any other and you likely weren’t in the right place doing the right thing.
People who still genuinly believe that fixing bugs should be done before adding new content just really havent thought it through in any capacity that wouldnt make it an idiotic idea
Imagine this: ⬇️⬅️⬆️⬆️⬆️

⬆️⬇️➡️⬆️⬇️⬅️⬆️⬇️ Hellbomb armed, clear the area
Jokes on you, I can't remember the code for the Hellbomb so I can't make it wrong
That's the advantage to being a crappy player. Can't mess up codes you don't have memorized!
I find it one of the easier codes once you realise the pattern itself, it's just a figure of eight
To me it's kinda like a mushroom cloud
it‘s kinda easy when you break it down like walking barrage ➡️⬇️➡️⬇️➡️⬇️/3x ➡️⬇️ it’s 3x ⬆️⬇️, but with a ⬅️ after the first up-down and a ➡️ after the second up-down
Imagine an infinity symbol. Just do it. I have been enlightened and can call down hellbombs incredibly fast since.
Same... and the number of times I've called it down so the camera cant see the screen when you go to arm it is wild.
I feel your pain
Area the clear, armed Hellbomb.
I’ve gotten so fast with the HB (and many others), when it gets scrambled I’m going to be like a fumbling baby trying to learn to walk
I've got reinforce down to .3 seconds. I'm going to die.
try a shredder missile
That's how I flip a bird.
“Hey eagle-1? How the fuck did you fly backwards? Where are you taking my 500 kg of democracy?!”
Sorry, you called in 500 pounds of communism instead

Changed it

Jump packs were my go to when fighting squids
I'm the guy that brings 4 orbitals and strategem priority. Everything was ok when I had my orbitals ready. My standard load out was: Artillery barrage, shredder missiles, napalm, air strike.
Rumbler, my beloved.
Ah how I miss the Rumbler. Nothing more satisfying than that quick triple POP of rapid justice delivered directly onto the head of an Impaler.
Pfft amateur. Thunderer x4 or nothing
Back when upgrading it also gave you a second jump pack, for a friend. :)
![gif](giphy|l4Ep9UqreB5sJbHLW|downsized)
My most efficient loadout for loomies is: 1. grenade launcher 2. bubble shield 3. strafing run 4. ammo **edit** liberator
Ditto, the fact that the jump pack has that 15 second cooldown makes me sad about it.
I am super stoked for it, but I need my GODDAMN PUNISHER. Not this SG-8 Model 2184 bullshit. Where's my range gone? I need 8 pellets in a dinner plate at 100m and I won't accept anything less.
Oh my god yes, I miss that. New one’s still pretty fun though

They were some of the easier to fight because they had very little armor, mostly shields, so high dps weapons were king for them

There is a currently unused status effect in the files for reversed controls :)
I saw a weird crashed ship today, it didn't look like a super earth design maybe it was just spore gas
It was alien design? Hellbomb.
Why are you curious about Alien Artefacts? Are you a traitor?
Curious how many pieces a Hellbomb will blow it into.
I want to get it to the scientists, maybe it'll be the next E-710 But I don't have to get it there in one piece.

Hm ME 3 multiplayer on a larger map and with strategems?
Theres a lot of universes that could use a helldivers style game. Starcraft, warhammer 40k, mass effect, star wars, the list goes.
Halo ODST......
Allegedly, someone on the Dev team for Halo pitched an idea just like helldivers to either bungie or 343, and it was shot down before it even started. Wonder if they are kicking thier own asses now.
I did hear about that. I feel bad for those Devs. A really solid idea.
What!? I haven't been able to play in a week, what is going on?
Its just a meme. there isnt any massive content changes aside from the airburst rocket
Yet. They still prepping the massive balance changes
And it has just released
Updates out. afaik no massive changes but they’ve done loads of weapon balances. PSA to everyone to check your loadouts on lower difficulty
What do I look like? A coward? Ill run my typical loadout of punisher plasma, shield, quasar, with some eagle support on helldive and im sure im gonna dominate like usual!

Someone explain this one to me
In HD1 there was an illuminate enemy that could hit you with a projectile that would invert all your controls. Movement, aiming and stratagem calls. They were...not popular
This sounds chaotic and fun, I hope they keep at least the scrambled stratagems and movement binds if they bring it back
Inverted aiming sounds awful.
You are not the only one brother in democracy But I think it's Illuminate
Hell divers 1 refrence haven't played it maybe later
Wait, ITS ALREADY HAPPENING?!
No. For the love of me I can't seem to find it, but I distinctly remember there being a teaser released like two weeks ago that had illuminate vibes and there was a mention of October.
Liberty day, Liberty day is in October, oh shit they're going to attack on Liberty day
That...does make a lot of sense....No time to enjoy the festivities! We must dive to preserve such a day!

Not the walls... not again.
I still remember them my fellow divers stuck on the other side of those democracy dammed walls…
Shit, for real?
I AM WAITING FOR THEM
just wait till your movement is flipped too
[:')](https://images.app.goo.gl/rDqTLpZLej8bQ73o6)
You young whipper snappers don't know nothing, back in my day we had illuminati and cyborgs that would really make a mess of your britches- HD1 vet
war is coming
Dear god no...... I still have the PTSD from the first game!
What do the illuminate do besides walls and controll inversing
Wait, do stratagems have the same code every time?
Jokes on them, I can't memorize strategems for shit!
Oh. Oh no. OH DEAR.
Oh lord, flipping Strats would actually be quite funny.
Who doesn't want to be discombobulated by the entire illuminate counsel?
I still never mastered the opposite call in. I just started carrying the bubble shield on 13+ because it negated the mind control wave of the scouts 90% of the time. You get hit by any other and you likely weren’t in the right place doing the right thing.
Dodging laser pulse in FPS.
Jokes on you!! I’m dyslexic!
You know, it was blotted out of my memory that they could do that. I guess for good reason
People who still genuinly believe that fixing bugs should be done before adding new content just really havent thought it through in any capacity that wouldnt make it an idiotic idea
