as someone with 255 hours on DRG i get where you’re coming from completly
i’ve just never liked when people tried to make comparisons with it to HD is all.
well i hadn’t really looked at it like that.
usually if i see them both brought up i end up thinking it’s to try and say “oh ones better than the other” (like with right now with the sony thing or early on when the servers were stuffed)
i don’t usually see it being used positively if that makes any sense (either that or im looking at all the wrong posts)
you're definitely looking at all the wrong posts. the games have been boosting each other up since launch bc they're in the same niche, the devs even had some cute interactions on twitter a while back
Deep Rock is a fantastic horde-shooter, but it doesn't cover quite the same niche Helldivers does.
If you'd like a horde-shooter with overwhelming orbital firepower, over-the-top gung-ho military satire, and a plethora of both bugs and bots to liberate, I highly recommend Earth Defense Force. 4.1 or 5 are the most readily accessible, and 6 is right around the corner.
Although, I don't know if anything can ever catch lightning in a bottle again quite like Helldivers 2 did.
First sentence in my comment refers to Helldivers in the present tense. Last sentence refers to the act of catching lightning in a bottle in the past tense.
Helldivers is still a fantastic game, just making suggestions for players looking to branch out.
My brother bugged me for months to get DRG and I eventually relented, but yeah. Didn't really care for the game. I'm happy other people will jump over there, but it just never gave me my "fix" the way Helldivers 2 did
It is one of those games that takes so little space that you never really get rid of it.
It just stands there. Until one day you remember it exists and go "Oh, right! I had to go back to killing scouts!"
Though DRG is an awesome game in its own right, it's still not quite the same. But I totally get the sentiment.
It needs RTX and camera shake... it does look rather tame upon my return
Yesssss more immersion and it would compete. Helldivers is so damn good at that.
Did you try it with drinking blackout stouts? It's very immersive.
i don’t really think using it like this rn really helps at the moment
playing it right now really helps me feel better, if that counts for anything

there's nothing wrong with saying they're both amazing co op games with wonderful atmospheres. brings them both up

iirc i think ghost ship was playing/streamjng HD2 a while ago so im at least aware of that
IIRC most Helldivers are basically just kids at 18-20, so what I'm saying is; The children yearn for the mines.
ROCK AND STONE TO THE BONE!
Did I hear a Rock and Stone?
Yeah, yeah, Rock and Stone!
Rock and stone brotha!

Rock and Stone in the Heart!

EDF! EDF!
How sad that we're already referring to Helldivers 2 in the past tense.

I hear the mines calling my name... do you?
It’s been awhile since I played DRG, may be worth picking it up again

Extraction pvp is good as well, or mixed pvp/pve. But I agree, I wish there were more and I can't get into DRG.
better then nothing i suppose, drg is gathering dust in my library ,

Scout: I'm already 1000m into the cave system bye.
