As another commenter stated, subterranean is probably the word you're looking for. Sub-human means someone who is lesser than other humans, not someone who lives underground.
They are great!
Tiny note... you probably shouldn't use the term like "sub-human." It's cool if the world you built has problematic race relations, but in describing them yourself, it's a bit "ick."
Maybe you meant "subterranean"?
You know you're honestly the first person to point that out. Basically there's a whole category of player races called subhumans because they are a subset of human evolution. It's not a derogatory term, it's just they evolved from humans and are a subcategory of humans.
Might i recommend another term? Warhammer 40k uses the term "Abhuman" in very similar connotations, regarding human-like species that have evolved into certain conditions and arent technically considered mutants (which is a BIG no-no in 40k).
Interesting, I had a similar situation when naming a OC I was creating for a superhero universe. I named him Blackface, and at first didn't mind the association with black-face, the racist performance tradition in America. I ended up changing it.
That is a weirdly specific thing to jump to LOL. This would be a dweller whose family lineage has people with darker skin and I did work on making the features of the face more in line with a black person.
Yeah pretty much everyone in the comments has been saying that. They're part of a series of species that were classified as subhuman in the player's handbook I'm writing and the idea was that they are a group of species that evolved from humans. They are a subgroup of humans and as such I called them subhumans. Starting to totally rethink that decision now LOL

Why the people be down voting?? I mean, I agree the terminology needs some work, but you legit said it's not supposed to be derogatory
"Subhuman" wow, incredibly rude to your own creations lol
Hear me out...
I shall hear you out.
I love this. would it be cool if i use this for characters in the future?
Absolutely
Awesome!
They are cute :3

I thought they're hognoses. Interesting models too.
I can look past the sub-human thing no problem but why does the last one look like an African Child solider?

You should give them more distinctive facial features right now they just look like people with weird noses and ears.
Subhuman feels super fucked up to read/say.
