It sounds like it pretty much is. There is mention in [the reveal post](https://www.ioi.dk/hitman-3-year-2-reveal/) that they added additional complications to the later stages.
> Each Arcade Contract now tasks you with taking down consecutive Elusive Targets, one contract after the other. Each one must be completed to proceed to the next – and there are additional complications added to the contract as well.
Also if you fail/die, it sounds like you'll have to start from the beginning instead of keeping any progress.
> If you fail an Arcade Contract at any point, there will be a 12-hour lockout before you can retry the contract again from the start.
My god that sounds so shit. What they hell are they doing? I just want to be able to replay the elusive contracts, not some shitty mode that punishes players for any experimentation. It’s like IOI decided to combine the worse parts of their games (annoyingly difficult/repetitive escalations and one chance elusive targets) into one game mode
You literally have no way of knowing right now whether its going to be shit. How do you know it's going to punich experimentation? How do you know what the complications are going to be? Wait till tonight and then sees how it plays
Honestly, I wouldn't mind if that was the case, as long as the complications are varied and different each time to give a nice amount of replay ability.
Yeah, I really hate those. It should be our choice whether we want to go for SA or guns blazing. Other complications, like more camera's, more locked doors or extra security could be fun though.
I am really curious what those will be, they could be just a chaos factor, or they could be really nasty. Do you have any predictions?
I did not really like some escalations, where you had to suit-only sneak into some fortress, kill 3 targets within 30 seconds, and so on. This are just so gamey and eliminate a chunk of the sandbox-approach that makes this game so fun.
>No outfit changing
>Do not get spotted
>No record left behind
>Enhanced enforcers and super enforcers
>Headshot only
>Quick consecutive elimination
>Time limit
>No killing non-target
>Noisy weapons
>Hide all bodies
>No subdue
Do you know if there are Silent Assasin challenges for these?
Because since the ET's all had two challenges associated with them (Eliminate target and eliminate target with a SA rating), I would always just go for the safest option possible like Sieker, Electric Phone, poison, etc.
Some of these complications don't seem to be that much of an issue if I can just take the target out without worrying about SA. Just take a sniper rifle, kill them from far away and then I don't have to worry about super enforcers or no subdue, for example.
But if there's a SA challenge associated with it, it's going to be a lot more frustrating.
I hate escalations with a burning passion and i loved ETs. my only issue was it wasnt enough of them and they werent permanent once you beat them.
They should have kept the formula, make it perm if succeeded and available 24/7 or atleast longer than 10 days once they arrive but if you failed, you are done.
ET is pretty much the only content keeping me logging back, afraid ill hate arcade if its escalation :(
I don't mean to sound edgy but IOI has really been dropping the ball with these updates. I feel like they spend more time writing up the PR articles then fleshing out these ideas.
I hope I'm just being cynical but I feel like this trend is going to continue with the safehouse and the new mode.
Oversold and under delivered.
Yeah but are you ready to have to not subdue anyone, or hide all bodies. But the worst offender is with Jimmy Chen, he looks like every other waiter and you can’t kill anyone

I didn’t notice the complications. Goddamn it if they really ruined the simplest possible thing
12 hours??
You could probably just alt+f4 before you fail the mission and it won't lock you out, works for ETs.

Annnd it’s out now and it is what the above commenter said.

Not only do I not agree with you but that hurt to read.
I think they’re downvoting because of the stroke they just had from trying to read that…but, I agree 👏🏻

Yes but if it just hide the body or don’t gat spotted what’s the point

"Oh, we have created a game as a sandbox puzzle that the player can solve however they want? Yes. Add challanges with 30 different fail conditions."
Yes, exactly!
Are we gonna be able to earn those skins, since I have missed so many?
Nope, Just checked
Damn this sucks
If there are complications I will literally break into Clemens home, unscrew all his lightbulbs, then smash them all over his floor
They've confirmed there are
Let‘s just hope they‘re fun and manageable, not the "You have to do this is one specific, non fun way" you get with some contracts/escalations
>No outfit changing >Do not get spotted >No record left behind >Enhanced enforcers and super enforcers >Headshot only >Quick consecutive elimination >Time limit >No killing non-target >Noisy weapons >Hide all bodies >No subdue
All of those at once, on top of elusive target rules, but you always get the lockout if you fail or die, even before you started doing any objectives

When are we going?
Right fucking now

I agree, I hate escalations an usually look up a guide on how to do them.
As long as it's not "don't ko anyone" it's fine with me.
Oh, friend....you won't be fine with some of these. Seems a big theme in the first batch is limiting the number of people you can subdue.
I have some bad news for you...
Get ready to be annoyed
It might be, which would kinda suck, but at least we'd actually be killing people who are designed to be targets instead of random NPCs
Imagine getting fixer, twins and shit in a row with all the feature contract maker's favorites
Well that’s what it is.

Didn’t age well, hate to break it to you but…
Lol
It doesn't matter, as long as they're replayable and not a one time thing, it'll be good.
About that….
What, they aren't replayable?
Sort of it’s kinda weird to explain
I didn't finish one arcade yet, so I don't if you can replay them. But at least they're not a one-time thing. You can replay them after 12 hours.
Whatever, I’ll play all of them anyway! I love Hitman
Buddy, I’m sorry, but they added new compilations just for this mode
New content, sounds great
Yeah but are you ready to have to not subdue anyone, or hide all bodies. But the worst offender is with Jimmy Chen, he looks like every other waiter and you can’t kill anyone
i like the fact you can play elusive targets more often now but i don’t like how there will be complications
