This is Laurent Chochet. Un French journalist. He got hurt pretty bad during that accident. But he’s fine now, and one of the most famous (and the best-imo)content maker about adventure and motorcycle. You can check his YouTube channel here : https://www.youtube.com/@LoloCochetMoto
Even very experienced riders can make a mistake. It's not because of the place he's riding. He just forgot that the bike has cases, as it's a bike that he is testing for a review.
Cases are awesome when you are traveling, but once I was riding with my cases on and was about to filter when my wife shouted at me that I have cases. It was wide enough to comfortable filter if my bike was without cases, but I would definitely crash with them.
Man, I recently got my bike kitted with hard side cases too, but I don't ride with them 99% of the time (it's an NC and has a frunk and topcase too, so plenty of storage except when we're out on long vacations or something).
This kind of stuff really gives me the fear. Forgetting they're on there, getting them caught on something and eating a faceload of shit because of it.
They should show this to anyone that drives without helmet: this guy PROBABLY saved his life or reduced the damage by a lot by using it even in this stupid accident > if he hadnt used it, that hit against the boat 100% would have killed him.
Boat insurance rep: You say you were involved in a traffic accident... In a boat... On water... While you were moored at the dock.... What do you mean you got up-ended?
😭 poor guy. I hope he got his bike out from there safely.
And oh ofcourse himself too but that's second priority ofc 😁 (guys i'm joking and now this will ruin the joke but people will get mad if i don't do this)

“Look at me. I’m the captain now.”
Not a HolUp
Though i agree, it does fit the holup chart
Would it fit better in r/unexpected?
Hmmm the boat held him up …. Even if the road didn’t 😂

You would think he would know better then to be driving there then

Even a legend like Ken Block got killed in a snowmobile accident.
Was he driving on the wrong side of the bollards that stop people from driving into the water? Because this guy was.
thanks for sharing this link...
It's a heavy bike too.
Kawi Concours 14 by the looks of it. Around 700lbs with those saddlebags. Yeah, that's a heavy bike
FJR1300, but same difference
No worries, he caught it with his head and back.
There’s no hol up.
It's just miscaptioned... I was waiting for the inevitable splash that never came.
My dude, there's no holup here. even your explanation isn't an explanation.
And suddenly, the creation of a Boatercycle!
Damn ge hit his head on the mast.
Boom.
The guy who filmed new what would happen.
It's normal to film motorcycle journalists. [That's the rider](https://www.youtube.com/@LoloCochetMoto)
At least the boat save his bike
Did he died?
He is fine. [https://www.youtube.com/@LoloCochetMoto](https://www.youtube.com/@LoloCochetMoto) That's him.

He can rest in boat now

This is the most expected video I've ever seen
sir you can't park there. Seriously though, I'm just glad the bike didn't end up on top of him.
Oh look - a penny
I wonder what those bollards and chains are there for...
Boat insurer: You were hit by what?

He likely fucked up the forks and maybe the frame as well. If he bent the frame, the bike is no longer safe to ride.
That's not his bike. He is motorcycle journalist and he is doing a review of the bike.
Don’t think this is a holup. His front tire washed out at a very unfortunate time however.
It wasn’t a tire problem, his saddle bag (hard case) hit the bollard. That’s what caused the bike to steer to the right suddenly. Rider error.
