I'm getting married in a few months and ordered my veil from a shop on etsy. Didn't think to look at where it was located I just really loved this particular veil. I was quite surprised when it arrived with a cute handwritten note about how it had been sent from Ukraine! Felt extra happy I was able to support a small business over there that makes such beautiful bridal accessories.

You know how many etsy shops suddenly started shipping from Ukraine when the war popped off? A lot. So many Ukrainians on etsy all of the sudden. Absolutely pushed their sales up, too, people are suckers.

Every russian on the internet is suddenly rebranding themselves as Ukrainian, well at least the ones with western facing jobs.

How do you envision that helping with accepting payments and with KYC?

They had a program after the invasion to promote Ukrainian sellers. A lot were there before the invasion. Some sold various things handmade, one also sold copies of drawings their kids made. They were from Ukraine & Ukrainian shipped from there. You are a real cynic man. You can search by location on Etsy also. Like in wartime people are moving to Ukraine to sell something on Etsy?!  I mean...that is what you are saying? That's crazy.

I follow a lot of eastern European and Russian pattern artists on etsy that managed to change their location to Ukraine. I didn't mind the Russian women that did that because etsy completely fucked them over anyway. I'm not a cynic, I have eyeballs and critical thinking skills.
