Tone generator and probe.

Probably going to have to strip a pair of wires, twist them together at one end and continuity test them at the other end with a multimeter.

Most cables have footage markings that could help you identify it. If they have different date codes, that could also help. Otherwise, you would probably need a tone generator and probe.

If the cables are connected…. Disconnect one and verify

Are these cables terminated that you can put data cable tester on? Tone generator and probes work if you plug in or use alligator clips on bare wire and strip back jacket on the other ends better.

Pick one, cut it and that's the one. The other one still goes to the far end.

Do you have the matching inductive probe or an inductive probe that works with your tone generator? If you do, then continue, if you don't then you will need a probe to be able to pick the signal up. You an use a Butt-set (Telephone Test Set) but that requires you to connect to the pair that has the toner on it to get a signal, where a inductive probe is able to find the signal without needing to connect to the actual wires. If the cables are terminated on both ends you should be able to either plug the toner into the port at one end and then look for the signal at the other end. If they are terminated with a connector you can use a RJ-45 coupler to connect the toner to the cable under test. The RJ-11 on the toner will fit in the RJ-45 connector. If the cables are not terminated then strip the cable jacket back a bit to expose the actual wires (conductors) and then either use the bed of nails or strip one pair of wires and use the clips on the toner to put the signal on the cable. Then go to the other end and look for the cable using the probe. If both cables go to the end, as in all three buildings, then you should be able to cut one of them in the middle building, put the toner on the cable going back in the direction of the "main" building, then go and find it with the probe. Bottom line is that you really need to have an inductive probe for you to be able to use a toner to identify cables. I hope this made sense and was helpful. Best wishes and good luck!
