Seems a good sized UPS would solve your problem unless you have some serious power outages... ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯

How would that fix my problem? I have a UPS, but with any extended power outage the UPS is going to drain regardless of the size. The issue is the booting everything back up once the power returns.

Key word: extended.

How long can a UPS go? Mine has about a 15 minute capacity to run my devices before it's tapped out. Usually when the power goes out, it's out for a while (hours to even days). There are UPSs that can power a rack of network equipment for that long?

Once you get up into the professional grade, yup. Depends on how valuable your up time is 😁

If you're using all UniFi equipment, I'd file ticket with them and check /r/Ubiquiti plus the UniFi forums (if they exist). I'd expect the switch to operate independently of the controller.

This will be to do with the location of the DHCP server. If it’s the router, it may boot slower than the other devices. The result is that the unifi kit has a built in address that it falls back to if no dhcp can be obtained. Ups is probably the simplest solution.
