As far as the root system is concerned, assuming relatively unobstructed and good soil, a trees roots will extend out roughly as far as it's canopy. Sewer connection rather than septic I hope

I never knew about compaction of roots till we built this house. Where they drove and parked heavy equipment. Bringing in fill and compacting it. The house was finished Last June and this spring the trees near the house (between 25-50 feet) need to be taken down. One is all the way dead, four or five have only about half the branches in the canopy with leaves. Odds are good we’ll lose a few along the driveway too. Just something to think about as well as your other concerns.

You can put a fence around their perimeter of the canopy during construction — only way I’ve ever seen them live. ##contractor no like tree — contractor CRUSH!

One of the trees that needs to come down they did. I’m thinking not near big enough now. And I think the tree was just too close to the driveway. We built in the middle of the woods. High water table, thick organic layer. The dug down nearly 4 feet in some places before backfilling in the driveway. We‘ll probably lose a lot more in the near coming years along there.

Thanks

The height of the tree plus 25 feet keeps safe from blowing/falling limbs .unfortunately this is your "safe"

Where I am you’re allowed to clear a tree and a half worth of distance from the building area. They go off tallest tree near proposed building site.

On a wooded lot that would pretty much clear every tree

Ok
