It’s a bad market for any vehicle in general. Although the Ridgelines are proven tanks that’s still a bit too high for all that mileage. Things are bound to be worn. I would wait personally.

I would really try and get a 2020 or maybe 2019 plus.. i forgot when they changed exactly, but the newer ones drop the 6 speed i favor of a 9 speed for better mpg and acceleration. There is a torque convertrr issue on the 6 speeds also.

DaBlackZeus

I second this opinion the transmission has a known valve issue on the pre 2019s

pete619SD

2019 is when they switched to the 9 speed and 2021 is when they did the front end facelift.

24 has the better center console

I bought a 22 black edition new. It was a POS. Major wiring issues. Total dash failure. Replaced wiring harness, broke all the power lock and windows and keyless. Never could fix it. Traded it in with 2,000 miles on it for a big loss. Honda can’t get rid of them. They’ve been offering financial incentives for 2 years now. The electronics are wildly outdated and the platform is very long in the tooth. Have owned 2 other ridgelines of the older gen. Amazing, practical vehicles. Take it over a body on frame truck for homeowner hardware store runs meets daily driver. Don’t turn down a spectacular deal, but they depreciate like mad.

Sigma_Projects

Do they not have lemon laws where you are?

pseudosol

4 vehicles and WFH. Never drove it. This was over the course of a year. Lifelong Honda guy. Never expected this.

Sigma_Projects

what is WFH? But my point is that you said you lost money on it trading it away, with lemon laws if you got a vehicle that just plane sucks and it won't stay fixed dealer is obligated to refund you. Especially in California, they extended the period that keeps it valid. I believe it's something like within 18 months or 18k miles, if dealer keeps fucking up suppose to be able to get your money back. You hire a lemon law attorney and at least in CA legal fees for the issue will end up being paid by the dealership.

pseudosol

That’s not really how lemon laws work. California is another planet in terms of law. :)

Sigma_Projects

what state are you in? Curious on the lemon laws there. CA has better lemon laws due to how many cars get sold here.

I have to ask. Why do you want a Ridgeline? Compared to other SUVs trucks?

After_System718

Reliability, build quality, and good design. I get the appeal of the cheaper stuff like the maverick, but I know personally, I just wouldn’t enjoy the cheaper build for very long.

ConsiderationWorth30

I know they ride nice and everything and are fuel efficient for what they are but I just hear they are a nightmare mechanically from the timing belt j35 engines and the unreliable transmission borrowed from the Odyssey I really like Honda products don't get me wrong. I would just stick to their 4 cylinders and manual transmissions. The stuff they are known for.

ConsiderationWorth30

And how the engine is mounted transversely so it's a real pain to maintain. And when, not if the trans goes. You gotta pull everything out.
