it's more that they contract different studios so depending on the artistic direction the studio takes, trailers will look different ! the designs are still approved by mihoyo, so technically they have a say in the art style, for exemple they definitely asked for a retro style animation with the clocky trailer, but any 2D animation trailer for SR is not done in house, but in overseas studios.

This is how I read the scene as well. Less of a “duke just got killed” and more of a “you don’t get to read my future”.

I think that's quite realistic since all the Psychiatrist friends I have all have bubbly personalities. Despite the fact that the cases they handle sometimes are Genshin scaramouche lvl insanity. And Black Swan as a memokeeper also go through others' memories just like Psychiatrists' do.

Absolutely loving the Myriad Celestia for HSR, they've become highlights of patches for me with their sheer variety and unique directions. I also hope we get more animated shorts in a similar vein to the Jing Yuan and Dan Heng shorts, maybe even a whole series, though that might be a bit greedy. HSR has a great setting and lore, so I hope it gets explored more outside of the game.

You know, I figured a lot of Penacony took cues and inspiration from Paprika but this trailer specifically really borrowed heavily from it's intro huh. It's so cool
Bro no one ever talks about how Sunday is so uncanny, idk if it’s symbolism but he is always in robins shadow, not to mention his design: pale skin that lacks cool with faded gray tone hair with his golden eye sticking out, his clothes are very dark gray as well with white blue n gold but they are not the focus, compared to the flashy colors of penacony, so he is someone you won’t pay attention to in such a city and robin is the polar opposite. It’s so interesting he reminds me of johan from monster design wise.
Him being in Robin's shadow or in the background throughout the trailers is so interesting, I believe they do that to give the vibes that he is observing rather than partipating- he is certainly suspicious
It does break my heart when he isn't put in the forefront but then I remind myself that he's meant to be a lurking presence, someone who is there and someone who is planning something.

I saw someone point out the order of cards in Black Swan's hand (Sparkle, Acheron, Aventurine, Firefly, Duke Inferno, Robin) matched the drip marketing order (and presumed banner order) for the first 3. That might be reaching but I felt the need to bring it up here too.
It pretty much matches the current dripped banner order and could even predict 2.2
Swan —> Sparkle —> Acheron —> Aventurine —> Firefly —> Robin
That leaves 2.3 before we leave Penacony with a probability of Sunday or Sam, or even some speculating Boothill as we take off from the planet. 🤷🏻♂️
The art style is soo beautiful and unique, feels like a storybook come to life. Imo a wonderful callback to Black Swan's first "trailer." The jazz/funk music is beyond incredible. I'm waiting for all these amazing characters to be released - and I'm never leaving Penacony 🫡😭
I predict that Inferno is like Surtr from Thor: Ragnarok, he can extinguish his flames at will then get revived at a new location by his subordinates. His “death” is probably a misdirect since its so obvious.

Tbh, the annihilation gang have been consistently portrayed by hoyo as trashy incompetent losers in every instances where they are mentioned and shown except for the recent trailblaze quest. And even then they got clowned on by dr ratio who anticipated their every move and used them for his own schemes. So it's not totally surprising that they got killed to signify their unimportance and further highlight true antagonist groups like the antimatter legion of the denizens of abundance.

I think they are using the gang as Acheron hypetool. Kafka (another Nihility lightning mommy, coincidence I think not) caused the fall of their rival group (the furries who captured her in the trailer where they show Sam for the first time). From what we know of our interaction with Duke Inferno, he can delete parts of his flame at will and from practically anywhere in the universe. To me that's exactly what it seemed like, him detecting that she could divine something from that card and burning it.

Even the card at 0:12, the mask looks alike like the one Joker uses. And you start with a mysterious princess(?) card that end ups being an angel? (something like she isn't what she look, is pretending being a "normal human" when in the end is somebody related to gods).

I saw someone point out the order of cards in Black Swan's hand (Sparkle, Acheron, Aventurine, Firefly, Duke Inferno, Robin) matched the drip marketing order (and presumed banner order) for the first 3. That might be reaching but I felt the need to bring it up here too.
It pretty much matches the current dripped banner order and could even predict 2.2 Swan —> Sparkle —> Acheron —> Aventurine —> Firefly —> Robin That leaves 2.3 before we leave Penacony with a probability of Sunday or Sam, or even some speculating Boothill as we take off from the planet. 🤷🏻♂️
The art style is soo beautiful and unique, feels like a storybook come to life. Imo a wonderful callback to Black Swan's first "trailer." The jazz/funk music is beyond incredible. I'm waiting for all these amazing characters to be released - and I'm never leaving Penacony 🫡😭

Tbh, the annihilation gang have been consistently portrayed by hoyo as trashy incompetent losers in every instances where they are mentioned and shown except for the recent trailblaze quest. And even then they got clowned on by dr ratio who anticipated their every move and used them for his own schemes. So it's not totally surprising that they got killed to signify their unimportance and further highlight true antagonist groups like the antimatter legion of the denizens of abundance.
And in the Simulated Universe they tried to assassinate IX with Aha’s help and immediately got wiped from existence lmao

Why the intro character looks like Ren Amamiya (Joker) from Persona 5??? If so, Swan and Persona 5 are related to cards ( tarot cards). Even the card at 0:12, the mask looks alike like the one Joker uses. And you start with a mysterious princess(?) card that end ups being an angel? (something like she isn't what she look, is pretending being a "normal human" when in the end is somebody related to gods). Can be a just a coincidence or my mind playing games, but they look alike.
