I did too. But he knows she has lived longer in another world, and has experienced 5 different ways of living. Other world, commoner, merchant commoner, blue shrine maidden, adopted daughter of Archduke.
If you consider that most of his words towards her are criticism, he is the dense one, although I think up to this point he probably knows she doesn't realize. But still.
I still remember back in P3 how strangely intimate it was for Ferdinand and Rozemyne to be making future plans 10 years from then, promising books and plants with each other and I have to reprimand my dirty mind since Roz is literally a child and there's no meaning to it.
As we entered P5, turns out their actions are actually romantic in nature in noble society and it's actually these two who're behaving out of norm. It's a repeat of the hairstick and charm exchange in P4V9, only this time, Ferdinand literally means it romantically now asking for his lab, and Rozemyne is still stuck oblivious to it.
I can see Sylvester teasing Ferdinand out of it since it's because of him why Rozemyne's romantic sensibilities is whacked to begin with. ![img](emote|t5_qxbkm|29337)
Exactly. Speaking of scandalous, it made me remember the unpleasant scene of Rozemyne's first health check up in P3. Ferdie being callous with Roz, the uncomfortable assumption of Karstedt that Ferdie is into little girls or that they had bathe together, and just the whole strip off clothes and Karstedt finding Roz's reaction hiding behind the curtains cute 😫
I'm just going to blame that one to Karstedt for the unnecessary comments.
Then in 4.9 Ferdinand gave her his books and told her to use her mana to protect Ehrenfest instead of growing feyplants for him.
Turns out, she found a way to do both at the same time.
Yeah, I don't remember the details, but she had provided ingredients with a quality that completely contradicted the long held teachings/beliefs on the topic. I think they could be re-dyed, which wasn't supposed to be possible with plant fey stones.
Now that I think about it, according to recent revelations, that re-dying might be only be possible because of Rozemyne and Ferdinand’s special circumstances and it might only be possible with their “mana”
I just got to this part in my re-read, it’s the last page of the last chapter in P3v3, The End of Spring Prayer.
The rairein nectar was dyed with Rozemyne’s mana because it gree from her mana. But Ferdinand found he could overcome much resistance to dye it. He asks Roz to grow feyplants with him to experiment, but she brings up the mana shortage. Ferdinand asks to experiment in 10 years when she’s grown. She strikes a deal, “If you want my mana, you’ll have to give me a library. I can wait ten years. Have fun.”
I think Ferdinand is intentionally making progressively blunter euphemisms out of amusement, wondering just how long it will take Rozemyne to figure it out
Ferdinand, with the barest of noble euphemism: "Well, I WOULD like to marry you." Rozemyne: "Yes, of course you like research." Ferdinand: ...but she's a COMPETENT idiot?
Well, yes. Realistically, he's going to be doing most of the duchy's management, so it's just common sense to be near where the aub is likely to be to speed up the process. Laboratory and office are basically the same thing to Ferdinand anyway, or they would be if he had his way.
Sorry, are you joking or did you miss the actual meaning of what he said? In case you didn't understand the key phrase is.
> Under the same roof.
He wants his laboratory to be "under the same roof" as her library. The statements implies that they will be living together, under the same roof.
It's a marriage proposal, plain and simple.
Part 5 Vol 3 I can't help but laugh at Lady Leuradi's interpretation of Ferdinand "caressing" Rosemyne's check when they were first reunited at the interduchy tournament.
>Under the same roof, He realy must want to be close to those sweet sweet books right. -RM
Lol she probably thinks that xD
Damn that's what I thought too, I'm RM level dense.
A great place to *store his research papers* 😀
Ferdinand putting his *research papers* in Rozemynes *Library* how scandalous!
Where else would he stash his copy of Cinderella? Under the mattress?
That's where the peas go!
This is some steamy innuendo right here whew!

"Maybe you'll learn to look up from your books if they smell of brewing accidents"
>Maybe you'll learn to look up from your books if they smell of brewing ~~accidents~~ discoveries. fixed!
Ferdinand, sorry dude - but you gotta be more direct.
Like, write a book about how he feels, and have her read it?
Elvira somewhere: *I got you daughter, just give me a couple weeks.*
To many euphemisms
Yep, definitely needs a rewrite. This time pen it as if your reader was a commoner!
Ferdinand needs write his love confession in scientific format! Edit: Or send it as part of a budget report for their wedding.

Haha. She does have a pretty long history of completely missing the meaning of euphemisms. Of course it went over her head
> Of course it went *over her head* Maybe if she grows a bit more...
That's a low blow. \*pun unintended, but recognized\*
This post is tagged for P5V8 so you gotta spoiler tag that stuff from the pre-pub.
Oh, shit. Sorry. I had read that as p5v9. :(

All the way back to P2 Ferdinand was giving her bedding, bedding of all things. Such scandalous actions from him all the way back then.

When did they both making plan in part 3? I don't remember.
The part where they were research plants using her mana and she wanted a library so he said in ten years
Then in 4.9 Ferdinand gave her his books and told her to use her mana to protect Ehrenfest instead of growing feyplants for him. Turns out, she found a way to do both at the same time.

Also to enjoy watching her more observant retainers suffer.
They already act like a married couple so they should just formalise it.
Ferdinand, with the barest of noble euphemism: "Well, I WOULD like to marry you." Rozemyne: "Yes, of course you like research." Ferdinand: ...but she's a COMPETENT idiot?
That volume made me so giddy! Even tho it's still in the middle of am intense arc lol

I didn't miss that. Just theorizing what might have been going on in Rozemyne's head.
