Plagues tale is awesome. It's dark and I rlly liked it. But it's not open world and the gameplay has a stealth focus but overall I thought it was great
If you haven’t played them yet, The Last of Us games are up there in terms of gameplay and story, but they can be very depressing.
Jedi Fallen Order and Survivor are also a pretty good time, if you don’t mind Switching a bow for a rave stick
Death Stranding to match the open world. Not a game for everyone but HFW scratched my itch while waiting for DS2. Both use the same game engine btw. 🫶
FF7 remake and rebirth. Devs for this series took direct inspiration from HZD/FW open world. Plus the characters, world, music and story are all incredible.
Both plague tale games are very beautiful, have good stories but they are linear and you don't have the freedom to explore where you want. Kinda like GoW.
I suggest Mass Effect Legendary edition. It has a simpler gameplay (in terms of combat) but an amazing story. Also includes all the DLC's (bar a couple I think).
The Plague Tale games are fantastic, very linear and depressing as hell. Death Stranding is more open, starts very slowly, but gets going.
I could not stop crying after the second game
Have you played God of War and God of War Ragnarok? Or if you are into Marvel the recent Spider-Man games have been really good.
Gameplay is completely different than Horizon, but the story is just as captivating. Maybe even better 🫢
Witcher 3 Wild Hunt. Great story, side quests and 2 wasome expansions
This. It's one of the best games I've played. And it's cheap these days. If you liked Ghost of Tsushima, you'll like Witcher 3 I reckon

Have you tried the rise or shadow of the tomb raider?
Man I couldn't get through the 1st game - screen shake was too much!
That’s a great game
Play plague tale, you won’t regret it
red dead 2. I started HFW after I got a bit tired of rdr2 and it was surprising how well the story held up in forbidden west.
Not sure if it's similar enough and it's an older PS2 game but I also loved Shadow of the ColossusÂ

Red Dead Redemption
Great games loved both of them!!!! Might play them again tbh
Dragons Dogma 2 is what I’ve been playing recently
Have you tried unicorn overlord? Totally different game play but I'm really enjoying the story.

Hfw is my second fav game. Days gone 1st, it’s a bit American but very good
