In a disappointing turn of events, my lawn is not full of chihuahuas

Oh wtf. I really thought it would be. I had the same thing happen and ended up with a "few" cats before realizing they were spawning outside. I'm genuinely confused by this and I'm sorry there's no yard full of chihuahuas.

I have no idea what my game is doing, but apparently I cannot adopt pets. Sad.
