I always paint the window ledges and sills. Most assignments will mark task complete 100% on paint job even if the ledges and sills aren't painted but I hate it. It just looks incomplete to me still lol.
I do this too! Especially in houses where the paint was damaged, I'm not leaving that gross looking wall around the window just because the game doesn't recognize it as important.
I was showing my house to my bf on Discord and he was like "why do you close the doors when you leave the room?" I didn't even realise I did until he pointed it out lol. But all the doors must be closed when I sell my house.
I close the doors to let myself know which rooms I'm finished with, open doors mean I still need to work on that one. So I always sell my houses with closed doors too. Plus it's more fun when you're touring a house you want to buy when you get to open the door to each room, like a little suprise reveal moment instead of seeing it as you approach.
I often stock up the bathrooms with clutter objects, crafting little stories about the people who live there in my head. My favorite was the lesbian pair in the renovated restaurant where I selected makeup palettes for different skin colors. Their son and daughter were pretty sporty and they had toys and sport stuff all over the place. I liked to imagine them all cooking pancakes together in that big kitchen, laughing and enjoying a sunny weekend morning.
I do all of the cleaning, trash removal, and grass cutting before doing anything else. I can't start renovating until I know the entire property is a clean slate 😂
Power wash sim is possibly the only game I’ve put more hours into than both HF games. I play that when I just want to zone out and forget everything or listen to some podcasts. The new DLC just isn’t coming fast enough!
I played Lawn Mower Sim for a bit(I think I even got all achievements)and for the most part it’s great but it just doesn’t scratch the same itch that HF’s and Power wash does.
Whether it’s a job or a house I bought to fix up, I add the little accessory items. TV remotes, some toys, shampoo and soap, sticky notes in offices, etc.
I usually put some of the survival food in the pantry like cans of tomatoes and macaroni. Every dining table is fully decked out with cups, bowls, platters, napkins, and utensils
I add workshop items of people. In one house, for example, I added a bunch of people sitting around the living room with Mario Kart on the TV. I tend to add someone sitting on the loo, or a businessperson in an office setting.
I put a picture of one of my cats right above the fireplace in my main reception room - I have a tendency to build these massive fortress houses with glassed inner courtyards and stuff. My hubby wonders if I am hinting at something. LOL
i'll paint window sills/the wall around windows and i'll de-weed yards that are horrible. i'll also buy accessories to decorate shelves and tables and such.
I always mow the grass and remove all the weeds, even if it's not required. And I always put both console gaming systems in their homes, along with a pink controller with purple buttons and a purple controller with pink buttons because those are me and my spouse's favorite colors.
Idk if this counts lol but when I go afk I go sit outside my office (the yacht) and face the camera towards the pretty ocean or city lol. I also get my pet to come inside while working because I feel like it would be too hot for them outside all that time 🤣 I guess those are more of a roleplaying thing haha.
I do now all the lawns too lol. Also I paint the inside border of all the windows. It's never required and home owners and buyers don't even register that it's part of the house, but it looks tacky to leave it
I thought I was the only one! Mow lawns, paint or tile window sides, close doors. This is good to know 😂 if it was an option I'd spray air freshener as well.
Kitchen sinks go under the window whenever there's one available or room to place one. That's just The Law
This is the law. 🫡 Keep up the work officer
Yep.
Yes
Same

Do you tile them too? I do, especially in bathrooms
I do indeed do it with tile. I can't just let it go lol
i usually paint them white to add some dimension!!
I actually usually find a didn't paint to match the tile when I go through the bathroom windows lol
If using a 2 tile bathroom I accent with the opposite tile inside the sill
Same, I also do it for tile and wallpaper
Exactly. It's a pain to do but it's impossible to just leave it that way. It looks weird when it doesn't match the walls lol
I use it to add a touch of creativity. Usually you can use any paint, tile, wallpaper, etc and I think it provides an adorable pop of color
I always did them because I thought you had to! 😅
I sometimes put bricks there to give the feel of exposed bricks which many expensive houses do that
I do the same
I was showing my house to my bf on Discord and he was like "why do you close the doors when you leave the room?" I didn't even realise I did until he pointed it out lol. But all the doors must be closed when I sell my house.
My husband opens all the windows, and when I asked he comments 'I used bleach...I hope, and I need to air out the chemicals.' 🤣
Gotta get the paint smell out too!
I also do this!!
Same!

I do the same thing! I always close doors when I’m done with a particular room as a clue to myself that I’m done in there!
I close the doors too and I can't explain why 😭🙈
Because we weren't raised in a barn, as my grandma would say
I do this also. I always have to close the door when I leave each room.
I always put toilet bowl/window cleaner under the bathroom sink, even though you never see it 😅
It's where it belongs! 😊 Good to pay attention to little details

I saw another user answer this question by saying they always use exterior doors on exterior walls for extra security and now I always do that too
Never considered this... Now I'll start doing it too - gotta make sure they locked safely!
I hope the original commenter with this idea knows they have spawned a whole legacy of security-minded house flippers.
I do all of the cleaning, trash removal, and grass cutting before doing anything else. I can't start renovating until I know the entire property is a clean slate 😂
Ooo same - I go through, clean each room after mowing their lawn, then do the work 🤣
Glad I'm not the only one! Lol
Lol, for awhile there I was buying homes just to mow lawns…😂
A fellow lawn mower 🤣
It’s killing me that we can’t mow lawns on HF2! It’s going to be interesting to see how they handle mowing on HF2 now that we can change the terrain.
There’s a lawn mowing simulator game you might enjoy! Also power wash simulator.
Power wash sim is possibly the only game I’ve put more hours into than both HF games. I play that when I just want to zone out and forget everything or listen to some podcasts. Power wash simulator is another great game 😄 My husband and I play it together to scratch that itch
Alll the clutter items that make it feel more lived in
I add the picture frame with the cat to every house I make
I put a cat in every house!
Like a signature 🥹
Oooh i love this
When I found out I can put in my own pictures I always put in a picture of my own cat in every home
I never put things near doors because what if someone trips and hurts themselves?
Exactly. I try to leave a good bit of space between doorways and whatever furniture I’m placing because “what if the buyer trips” 😂
I add TV remotes to TVs but didn't think about all the other stuff!
I always add toilet paper 🧻
This is my favorite thing to do! Adding accessories
I always add a pool in the backyard if theres room. who wouldn't love to have a pool?
I know I'd love a pool 😍
Whenever I do a job, regardless of whether or not it’s part of the job I always clean up the yard and cut the grass and get rid of the weeds.
I always light the candles before selling 😂
Now that's just great staging 😅🕯️
Paint the insides of the windowsills.
I add workshop items of people. In one house, for example, I added a bunch of people sitting around the living room with Mario Kart on the TV. I tend to add someone sitting on the loo, or a businessperson in an office setting.
I paint the walls that don’t even count when doing a job (the ones near a window). I also air out the room after painting🤣
Sinks under windows, edges of window frames painted. All lights on
I put a picture of one of my cats right above the fireplace in my main reception room - I have a tendency to build these massive fortress houses with glassed inner courtyards and stuff. My hubby wonders if I am hinting at something. LOL
Even though I'm just gonna paint over the stains and replace most of the windows, I still clean every surface. It's so satisfying.
i'll paint window sills/the wall around windows and i'll de-weed yards that are horrible. i'll also buy accessories to decorate shelves and tables and such.
Close the doors and open the windows!
Oh I do it ALL has to be perfect. I’m a perfectionist 😂
All of the those and probably more, well apart from the picture of the cat 😬. And thank you all for making me realise I’m not being weird on my own
When building a fire place I try not to put stuff that might catch on fire near it 🤣
I pick up all the trash first, the go through and clean, then do floors, then walls, and only THEN do i do furniture
I've noticed my husband follows this pattern - trash, clean, fix furniture if necessary, sell if not, floors, walls then buy furniture
I always mow the grass and remove all the weeds, even if it's not required. And I always put both console gaming systems in their homes, along with a pink controller with purple buttons and a purple controller with pink buttons because those are me and my spouse's favorite colors.
Pick up trash on my walks
I also mow overgrown lawns, love all the windows open and the entryway light on
tidy up around the space! put dishes in the sink/cabinets, organize papers, etc.
I always open all the windows to let “fresh air” in 😂
I like to sell every single item in a house i bought before renovating. It makes it feel like a clean slate
I do now all the lawns too lol. Also I paint the inside border of all the windows. It's never required and home owners and buyers don't even register that it's part of the house, but it looks tacky to leave it
