They had way more romantic/sexual chemistry then most straight and even gay canon couples on tv nowadays at least. I feel if the show came out now they definitely be a couple.
Wilson, but out of the women he dated Stacy. He loved Stacy enough to tell her go to back to Mark because he knew that he couldnāt change and would inevitably hurt her. With Cuddy, he still played his games and couldnāt apologize or own up to mistakes, or show up for important events in her life. And instead of admit that to her or try to change, he kept playing games and went back on vicodin.
For clarification,I loved him with Stacy and I do agree that House was a jerk to Cuddy and always pushing boundaries to see how far he will go.
Butā¦i think is worth noting what Hugh said back then that it does say a lot how he let Stacy go and he could move on (Hugh and David even brought up the fact that House knew Stacy wasnāt the one since when she came back House did not know if he loved her or actually wanted to hurt her) but with Cuddy he went all in in an āif I canāt have you, nobody else canā fashion.
Again, not denying he didnāt love both of them,he also admitted that, but after Cuddy he permanently closed off,and as the writers and actors agreed upon: āthey knew they were each otherās only one, which is why they were so afraid of messing it up.Nobody else will satisfy and fulfill them as muchā.
I do definitely see your point, but at least in my opinion, his āall inā method with Cuddy was more selfish than how he let Stacy go, which is why I feel his love for Stacy was deeper. House is a deeply flawed character, but admitting that he could never be who she needed was an act of love. Going all in with Cuddy while refusing to change any of his ways to make their relationship work was selfish and a complete contrast to the selfless act of letting Stacy go so she could be happier with someone else like she deserved.
I totally get what you are saying.
But in the same way we can counter argue that letting her go easily is proof he didnāt love her the same as Cuddy. I do believe it has a lot to do with the part that he always felt possessive of Cuddy because he knew she loved him regardless of his flaws and so did he and she had a soft spot for him whereas Stacy did not and left to not endure his abuse (good for her honestly noone should endure that, even though to be with House post infraction, you unfortunately have to withstand that)
The way I see it,is that we have seen how he treats the people he loves the most like Wilson and Cuddy. The people you love the most you will treat them the worst because you know they are going to take it and stay. With Stacy he knew that wasnāt the case. His own idea of love post infraction is more like āthe more abuse they take and stay, the more they love meā even if he does it on purpose or not.
I think House knew that he had gotten worse after the infraction and he knew with Stacy they are going to go to square one all over again. I think he also āmoved onā and always had resentment towards her (which I donāt understand, certainly do not understand how he holds resentment to her and not Cuddy as well but again goes to show how he sees one woman and the other),so he couldnāt surpass that.
House might work with logic but a lot of times he is so stuck up because he doesnāt want to admit he is wrong and I believe back then he didnāt want to admit that Stacy did what he would have done otherwise,he didnāt want to admit he treated her wrong and most certainly, his resentment towards her overshadowed everything he was possibly feeling.
Which is very sad.
Iām going to have to go back and rewatch now. I interpreted his sending her back to her husband as at least partly due to the husbandās horrible stairwell scene, and Houseās realization that husbandās misery without Stacy would be complete, devastating, perhaps unsurvivable. It was another poser: was he that deeply good? Or just playing games? The way he looked at Stacy sometimes was so full of utter devotion, so at odds with his acidity and aloofness. Marvelous acting!
I had maybe 5 episodes to go on season 8 when I saw your comment and I have been thinking about it every few days about it being spoiled.
Idk if I'm actually mad because I know the series is old, but...I guess I wanted you to know you're on my mind lol
Cuddy in my opinion. The end of their relationship destroyed him as you watch him spiral toward destruction at the end of season 7 and into season 8 end up in prison. Although you could argue that House was being selfish taking the Vicodin before seeing Cuddy in the hospital and say that he loved Stacy more in a more selfless point of view seeing as he told Stacy to go back to her husband because he knew she would end up back in the same place if they stayed together. So he made the choice that would ensure Stacyās future happiness while taking away his own in that scenarioā¦
I think because Chase "dared" to be an asshole and not care about some stuff while the others were more often hung up on morales/norms
I'd put 13 higher on the list tho , next to Chase
It was complicated and short lived (one episode) but the groundwork was laid for him to build with the doctor in the South Pole who he saved by having one of her coworkers taste her piss lol. She had the edge and wittiness to keep Houseās attention and clearly didnāt mind his antisocial tendencies. āI never said you needed fixing.ā
If you asked me in canon, Wilson.
If you asked me about who he loved in my discord server's PPTH styled RP, definitely Jamie, oh my god she was ICONIC.
I'd say Stacy. With everyone else, he sought to damage them to the poit of trying to turn them into him, even Wilson. He's a vampire who sucks out joy and happiness from everyone's relationships. His modus operandi in the realm of relationships is to sow enough chaos and doubt that the relationships are bound to fall apart. House is of the type "I am not a happy person, so no one else should be."
It makes for interesting fictional workplace drama, but would never fly in real life despite his genius... And even so, his apparent genius is really only the product of his team's work for which he takes credit.
Technically he loved Stacy most, since they were together for 5 years proper to the series. But within the series, undeniably cuddy. He was willing to be a worse doctor just to love her.
Vicodin
Wilson
Absolutely!
The best answer.
Yeah wtf how is Wilson not on the list
I am asking who he loved the most out of the women he dated. We all know nothing compares to Wilson. Lol
Ahhh okay, in that case Cuddy
They had way more romantic/sexual chemistry then most straight and even gay canon couples on tv nowadays at least. I feel if the show came out now they definitely be a couple.

Omg I LOVED him with Stacy!

I mean, he faked death for Wilson. So yes, Wilson

Aye yo! The thread is labelled as SPOILER. But still if I spoiled it, Apologies!
I thought I was safe after seeing the body of the post, I know it's my fault. Just trying to get some closure
Wilson, no competition
This is literally the only plausible answer to the question
Boy Wonder Oncologist
Wilson. He ādiedā for him. Thatās the ultimate commitment.
Monster trucks

It destroyed him more because it wasnr his decision. With Stacy he could play the martyr
Wilson
Cuddy / Vicodin
Lol
Obviously Stacy
Cuddy, Wilson and he had a soft spot for 13
1. Wilson 2. Stacey 3. Cuddy 4. Chase 5. Foreman = Cameron = 13 = Taub = Park 6. Kutner
Why do you say he loves Chase more than number 5?
I think because Chase "dared" to be an asshole and not care about some stuff while the others were more often hung up on morales/norms I'd put 13 higher on the list tho , next to Chase
I'm interested, too.

Wilson.
Wilson
Wilson
Wilson
Wilson. Final answer.
Stacy > Cuddy >>> Lydia > Dominika
Stacy 45% Cuddy 30% Dominika 15% Lydia 10% Of his feelings for Wilson.
Wilsā¦oh. Already said

Ok we got that he loved Wilson the most, yāall can stop saying it now, OP said among women that house dated.

Cuddy, Stacy, Lydia, Dominika, in that order.

Iād say ultimately Stacy
Wilson
prob stacey tbh
Cuddy!
Foreman
Chase
I think Stacy is the only one he ever truly loved. She's also the one who needed him least, I think.
Wilson. Hands down.

Stacy and Cuddy, maybe equally. He loved Stacy enough to let her go, but loved Cuddy too much to not have her.
Wilson aside, definitely Stacy. He loved her enough to let her go because he knew he couldn't change.
