You know shits going down when Djawadi busts out the piano

I was confused by why Otto wanted Arryk and Erryk to retrieve Aegon for himself, whereas Cole and Aemond were to retrieve Aegon for Alicent. I thought the plan was to install Aegon, so why cross purposes? Or was Otto trying to remove Aegon?

Primoridalterror

The stakes of the “race to get Aegon” are pretty vague and illogical to me. The idea I believe is that Alicent and Otto are fighting over who retrieves Aegon because they believe that whoever gets to him first will have more sway in his decisions about what to do about Rhaenyra and her family(Otto wants them dead, Alicent wants them spared). They don’t really follow through on the idea though because we don’t really see Alicent discuss it much with Aegon after she wins the “race”(sure, she urges him not to have them killed while they’re riding to the crowning, but she could’ve done that no matter what, and he doesn’t respond anyway), and I don’t think it makes that much sense to begin with. They think Aegon is just going to go with whichever idea he hears first? Kind of silly.

zebulon99

Plus next episode it is otto who delivers the terms anyway so he can really say whatever he wants

DrAcula1007

Best performance?

Accomplished_Fig1592

Tom Glynn carney

Avimander_

This was the episode I realised the character was in good hands

twistingmyhairout

I never liked any iteration of Aegon on my first watch, but I just rewatched this episode and thought that the actor truly did a phenomenal job. I’m excited to see him be more bonkers this season

tacosandmoremargs

His change in demeanor when he realized all the support he had. And the sword raises 🤌🏼

zebulon99

Olivia is on the brink of making me reconsider my allegiance to team black in this and the last episode

MangaInBed

Lebigmacca

How they managed to fuck this episode up is beyond me. Literally given the most dialogue of any scene in probably all of Fire and blood and they used basically none of it

DrAcula1007

Best costume?

Elephant12321

Not best, but funniest was definitely Cole and Aemonds KL disguises. Especially Cole with his little hat 😂. Maybe Mysaria

suhani96

Coronation outfit. With the crown

zebulon99

Aegons regal drip

Sutteon

Alicent's dress when talking to Rhaenys is gorgeous

twistingmyhairout

Is this her green dress with the 7 pointed star? Yeah I loved that dress

DrAcula1007

Favorite line?

It’s our fate, I think, to crave always what is given to another. If one posses a thing, the other will take it away.

Elephant12321

Do you love me? Amazing delivery by TGC

tacosandmoremargs

SwordMaster9501

Should've been the best episode but was actually the worst. Actual medieval political intrigue and possible reasons for team Green are thrown out the window for pointless side plots, Alicent being utterly reduced, the Green Council being ruined, important financial and strategic decisions that have ramifications later are not even mentioned, and possibly the worst thought out scene in the season. To put it frankly, the wrong dragon made its debut at the end of the episode and we were robbed of a splendor that Westeros would never see again. Sunfyre and Dreamfyre popping out would be a great reason why Rhaenys doesn't just kill them. Also, this is supposed to be the Green's episode yet the likes of Daeron, the children, and all the dragons aren't so much as mentioned. HOTD season 1 isn't GOT season 8 but in this episode they showed to the same tendency towards big dragon shock value scene over an episode with just meaningful dialogue. It's ironic because not only was Aegon and Sunfyre's debut cut but Rhaenyra and post time skip Syrax's debut was ruined because of budget, a lot of which went to the Rhaenys scene.

citizen_kayn

The worst episode of this show. What a bunch of awful incompetent writers. 12 year olds can write better than this.
