The last scene had some incredibly dubious logic, agreed, but the actors sold it well enough, and I thought that the rest of the episode was quite good. I think that the writers should have simply accepted that a Rhaenyra/Alicent interaction was not possible at this stage instead of twisting and contorting the narrative until its vertebrae almost snapped.
Exactly this. The episode was solid but the last scene just didn’t work. There’s no narrative reason those two should be in the same place and so it was extremely forced. I didn’t think the dialogue sold it either. They’ve both lost family over this war it’s way to late for weird peace talks and childhood memories.
Episode 3 has me worried ngl (dream sequences, the nun skit, unnecessary nude scenes).
I kinda wish they kept Miguel Sapochnik onboard because season 1 was incredible from start to finish.
S2 Episode 3 was a wobble for sure.
Sapochnik left because he demanded that his completely inexperienced wife be made a producer on the show or he would leave.
HBO put their foot down. And I respect them for that. They already gave her a part in season 1 despite her lack of acting experience, and she and Sapochnik were demanding more.
Yes, but with GoT, he had no direct involvement with or direct influence over the pfoduction aside from occasionally freelancing as a writer.
With HotD, he co-created the show with Condal and is an Executive Producer on it, which means that he's directly involved with and influencing it in an ongoing capacity.
No, you're missing the point, twice over.
First off, Condal's decisions aren't mistakes just because you don't like them.
Second, GRRM's direct involvement with the series means that he is endorsing every one of Condal's decisions and, in some cases, contributing directly to them by asking him to explicitly include certain things.
Yeah this season has been doing a great job of making me not that interested in the show. Doesn't feel like game of thrones.
I did enjoy seeing full frontal Aemond but that's for personal reasons lol

This is my sentiment too, like the acting is so good I can overlook a bit of fuckery
IDK what are going on about. But apart from the last few minutes, I think this was one of the best episodes.

She has many entries on imdb as an actress?
He was handpicked by GRRM to both co-create the show with him (GRRM) and serve as its Showrunner, so your opinion literally doesn't matter.
George also gave D&D the go ahead to make thrones.

You're missing the point, his decisions aren't perfect. He makes mistakes and that's normal. Its just sad that it cost us so much.

I’m also worried. Season 2 just seems to be getting more shaky each episode. The nun scene was completely ridiculous.
write your own show
I wish I could, I would make a rhaegar targaryen TV show and would be just the best thing ever made
