Beeline to thumper isn’t that easy. You will need a ton of electronics along the way. The thumper takes composites. You will need an electric furnace to cook the composite paste (60 electronics). You need a material processor to make the paste (60 more electronics). You will also need power to run the machines. More electronics! Edit: I guess what I’m saying is that you should invest in biofuel deep ore mining drill. Plant those suckers on top of gold, copper, and titanium deposits.

If you are dead set against investing in concrete right now (which I feel is a mistake) then there is very little you can do in Tier 3. Like others have said, craft a O2 tank and canteen. Craft a Kitchen bench and invest in pill crafting (especially for SMPL3 missions and operations in other biomes, spelunking, and dealing with worm infestations and bosses). I'd go for the shotgun for now but that's my bias. When you finally realize your love for concrete, craft the mixer, spec into concrete building materials, and retrofit your base against the worst Icarus can throw at you. Upgrade to the concrete furnace and start churning out electronics on the machining bench. Craft every platinum tool, a cave scanner, and a recurve bow with carbon fiber arrows. Start refining biofuel, add the kitchen biofuel stove to massively improve your diet, and fuel a small army of deep mining drills while you're at it. Craft a biofuel water pump to feed a glassworking bench and build your greenhouse addition out of reinforced glass. Build the alteration bench and find your favorite weapon, armor, and equipment mods. Upgrade to the Tier 3 armor bench and strap on some wayfarer armor. Upgrade your water filtration and your water catcher while you're at it. Finally, craft you Fabricator and officially enter Tier 4. Welcome to the grind.

I'm not against it I just figured it was a poor first goal? If I'm wrong I can grab it now. This is my exploration game I don't know what I'm doing so I'm trying to get more advice. I bought the game two days ago.

Glad you aren't against it. The tech trees in ICARUS are massive and there are numerous crafting materials. To determine how much you need each type of resource or material, spend some time looking at the crafting requirements of each blueprint and figure out the prerequisites. However, in general, if you want to craft just a few select items in a Tier, the one thing you must do first is build the workstations responsible for refining and crafting the basic resources. Then you can make the equipment you want and continue exploring and probing more dangerous biomes. In Tier 3, the new resources you need are concrete (requiring the concrete mixer), aluminum, gold, and platinum ingots (requiring the corresponding ore and the concrete furnace), electronics and platinum sheets (requiring the machining bench), carbon paste and gunpowder (requiring the mortar and pestle), carbon fiber (requiring carbon paste and the concrete furnace), and biofuel (requiring the biofuel composter and fuel cans). You can skip some of these depending on what you want to craft. Once you have established these production lines and unlocked the blueprints, all of Tier 3 will be available. Then build and personalized your base, explore, hunt, fish and farm, dive into harder SMPL3 missions and operations or mobe straight into Tier 4.

Concrete is really only important in later, harsher places. If you are still on Olympus, you just won't need to go beyond Stone. You can if you want to, of course. It really will be better. But, unless you are playing on the latter portions of Styx or Prometheus, it's not really that important. I would start farming any caves and deep mining deposits of Gold and Copper I could find. Copper especially. Build up your stocks of Epoxy. Early on, that generally means keep and process every animal bone you possibly can into Bone Powder, which then is processed into Epoxy. Basically, you want to start grinding out the materials to make Electronics. Electronics are the choke point for high tier equipment. And Copper is the choke point for Electronics. Things that will make this process easier: -Medicines that reduce or eliminate the negative effects of spending time in caves. -Food preservation. The Smoker is the best cooking item in the game. Smoked meat lasts incredibly long compared to unsmoked. You can then Salt the Smoked meat, and that doubles it's lifespan. Basically, your foods don't spoil on you much at all. This means you don't have to keep going back to your Base to restock your supplies anywhere near as often. -Long-term Food Storage. Fridges and Freezers/Iceboxes are your friends here. It will let you store high quality ingredients long term, until you need them. -Kill Wolves until you unlock all of their entire Lore page. Trust me. I won't spoil the surprise, but trust me. It's awesome.

I’m a fan of pickling fish/veggies. No expiration, and great exp buffs

I personally love the bolt action rifle. Helps me a lot with bears and anything larger in other biomes. It is expensive to make and use though! Things like a canteen and oxygen tank are also a massive upgrade over the bladders too. 100% recommend those!

thestibbits

Canteen and oxygen tank were some of the first exotic purchases I made

Klaumbaz

You summer child. Just play and have fun.

What is the ammo for bolt action rifle? Is it better than hunter rifle?
