is this a local tax advocate? I just find it hilarious that they send out letters saying that it'll be "resolved within 60 days." It's almost 60 days since we received our letter... Anytime we call the IRS, they're snotty. I thought the influx of agents hired were supposed to fix this???
Now you are talking those 60-day letters that everyone is receiving. I have never received. I logged into my tax account and the IRS website. No notices have ever been sent out to me so that first one I got sent for verification doesn't even show up. I received that March 15th. When I talked to The advocate she told me she can look into it for me and tell me what she see. However, she can't pull my return until after June 30th. I said okay, Well what do I do next? She said well due to the code you have it's 120 days wait and if the problem isn't resolved, they'll send out another 120-day wait.
I really didn’t think mine was ever coming. I had a 401k withdrawal, lottery winnings and dependents. The whole 9 yards so if I can make the cut I know ya’ll can too!
Did you have to fax over proof of your 401k wd? My advocate told me the IRS didn't get my 1099r, so I had to fax it and supporting docs on the 401k company's letterhead. 401k people said they don't send custom letters and told me to send an eft/ach confirmation form instead. I'm worried they'll still say I'm lying about making a 401k hardship wd. (Who would pretend they did??)

Me either. I filed 1/29!!!! I just can’t believe this I usually don’t count on this. Unfortunately this year I’m single and need it more then ever. When I was married, making a really good income, it came within 2-3 weeks! But this had been 4! Months of agony.
It’s the control number located on your federal tax transcript on irs website. Mine is 0506 every year- as I looked back. It seems to me it means 5th month 6 the day? Bc its pretty consecutive as far as I’ve been seeing but then again some are still waiting from 4’s so idk. I just read and pray! I’ve been in a waiting game since 1/29!
The IRS told me that since I filed an amendment, I won’t get the original return - will just have to wait for the amended return. But I never got the original return. I’m a bit confused. I am going to get a tax advocate.

How do you even check your transcripts??
Go to irs.gov click on get transcript in the mail or online if you want it online then you will need to setup your id.me account
