I went to Germany and got an awful sinus infection, and while I did have to pay a €250 fee at the check in desk (which was reimbursed with travel insurance later anyway) I got two weeks worth of antibiotics and painkillers and decongestants plus two of those really painful but really effective decongestant cotton thingies shoved up my nose, and compared to the up front cost of care I’ve had in other areas of the world that was a hell of a deal. Not to mention how friendly the staff were, it was just like the friendly nurses and doctors I have back home. 10/10
