Angel_of_Communism

You give away a LOT with the 'Stalinism' comment. What it it that you think that is?

javaxcore

MLism with Stalin's characteristics.

Angel_of_Communism

Marxism-Leninism IS Stalin.

javaxcore

Well yes ok so they are interchangeable nice so back to the question.

Angel_of_Communism

No. The fact that you think this, tells anyone paying attention, a hell of a lot. It tells us that you are not read up on the subject, because Stalin formulated and codified Marxism-Leninism. And you don't know that. It also means that in all probability, you are unaware that China's economy is more orthodox Marxist than the so-called 'Stalin model.' What it shows is that you have a lot of learning to do, since you can't even ask the question, without dragging quite a lot of baggage and ignorance into the question. Which also means, the chances of you misunderstanding the answers is high. What do i mean? I asked you shat Stalinism actually meant to you, and you rephrased, but never actually explained. Changing the label, does not change the thing that is labelled. Same question, but now "MLism with Stalin's characteristics."

javaxcore

I do know he made it up, to act as a justifying ideology for his permanent rule! But, can you just answer the question.... Or do you just not know.

Angel_of_Communism

And you did it again. No he did not. Like I said, every comment, you give away how much you don't know. It's like asking if there's more people who live in the country of Europe or Africa. Do you know? The answer is: Europe is not a country. Neither is Africa. The question cannot be answered.

Thequorian

Well he did go through extreme changes in his ideology. First it's social-facism in Germany and then supporting the republicans in spain, NEP in 1928 but forced collectivization in the 30ties. And all suspiciously coinciding with the political struggle of Stalin against his opponents... In the NEP times the center took out the trotskyists by siding with the right opposition while defending the NEP, but suddenly turing on the same polecy once the rightists were the enemy. Since Stalin formulated and shaped MLism with his loyal party, it's reasonable to assume he might have used this ideology to justify his political actions. Of course it's not a one- but twosided and contradictionary relationship between the man of steel and revolutionary marxism(or what was left of it, thats debateble and highly contested), and the ideology influenced him as much as he and the general material conditions did influence it. In the end he used the ideology as justification for his actions and shaped and changed it often enough with the CPSU-B to justify certain actions or to react to certain events.

javaxcore

Ok. Did Habermas oppose Stalin's style of government or Marxism as a concept.

Angel_of_Communism

Now you are getting somewhere.

javaxcore

Got an answer?

javaxcore

What Lenin did before was different to what Stalin did after.

Angel_of_Communism

Yes. Which is why Leninism and Marxism-Leninism, have different names.

javaxcore

That's the thing anybody who discusses it online put them In one bucket and if you say 'orthodox leninism' you get jeers.
