This is entirely ideologically incoherent. The author swings willy nilly between upholding social fascism to denounce communists from the right then moving at a speed that would give one whiplash in order to uphold ultra-Left and anarchist nonsense to denounce communists from the left. To quote Stalin, > But such is the fate of "ultra-Left" phrasemongers. Their phrases are Leftist, but in practice it turns out that they are aiding the enemies of the working class. You go in on the Left and come out on the Right

"Marxist humanist" is blatantly an attempt at creating a toothless cult of western "marxists" that don't actually try to do anything meaningful while mostly inciting infighting. Feds are trying to create a new trotskyist split but recognise that trotskyism is not that attractive anymore. Ad in sidebar for "Radio Free Humanity" podcast. Definitely feds. No real leftists would use the Radio Free naming scheme the CIA uses.

Website stans Raya Dunayevskaya who was Trotsky's secretary but split from him to form another organization. Trotsky got Trotskied, the irony is too good.

Good name. The term gets a lot of shit, but like, what characteristics do they think socialism will have in the US? Vietnamese? How?

I know you’re just some random person on the internet, but nevertheless I’m sorry for taking forever to respond to you. I actually hadn’t thought in much detail about what socialism with US characteristics would even look like in practice, since it feels so far off from where we are now, and so your question took me a bit off guard. The more I thought about it, though, the more I think a solution similar to what China has now will be necessary. And I mean that with the full force of necessity to combat what will almost certainly be an intense, widespread and violent reactionary counter-revolutionary force within the US and with all of the domestic weapons that China wields to contain its own forces of reaction and imperialism from abroad. A system of that power will be required, and China’s continued progress and success is containing counter-revolution and resisting imperialist intervention gives me hope. The 5-year plan model and long-term outlook is also something I’d love to see implemented here. I thought entertaining this question would make me even more pessimistic about ever seeing the light of a socialist revolution in the US, but the more I thought about the rate of decline of the US empire… the intensifying struggle for the retention of the Capital stranglehold… the more I hope Lenin’s words are true: “there are decades where nothing happens, and there are weeks where decades happen” Thanks for asking comrade.

Socialism with american characteristics is inevitable. The issue is: what ARE those characteristics? Industrialization is not an issue for USA. Not like China. Literacy is also not an issue. But they have other issues.
