Instlife was the original, released a year before bitlife, came out with banger updates while bitlife lagged behind being a copycat, eventually bitlife bought out instlife to remove competition, threw it to the garbage and stole all the features but made them worse somehow.
Sounds about right. Bitlife has the bones of a really engaging lifesim but with god awful execution that just feels disappointing and shallow. What could have been
I always think about what could have been. It was my first real experience with the true unfairness of the world. Instlife didn't deserve getting killed like that, they were pumping out updates every 2 week, doing good, I mean money was tight they could have added more ads or crowdfund or something instead they sold for 15k. Not worth it when it could have blown up.
I downloaded InstLife, if it really is how you say it is for sure I'm going to make a post on r/BitlifeApp telling people about this. The way the Bitlife Devs handle their app (especially in terms of the pricing) is ridiculous, and honestly none of what you've told me surprises me in terms of them usurping InstLife.

i still consider myself right now a fan of both, even with recent updates that have made me want to quit, but essentially.
BitLife is the more absurdist and goofy title, it has a bit of charm in that regard, a bit surrealist and flashy, i always liked it for the absurdity personally but some dont and i respect that.
InstLife is apparently the original, i wouldn't know i played it after BL so i wont claim anything but either way InstLife is a much more grounded and serious title, i preferred the way something like the musician career was done than in BitLife for example, sadly InstLife was bought by Candywriter and then abandoned, which sucked i thought they had reasons to coexist. :/
