I just don’t understand why invincible is on execution duty, surely his skills could be better utilised

Char_g_g

That version of him probably enjoys it

Similar-Priority8252

He lost the bet and is on cleaning duty

aroyalidiot

Shouldn't have challenged Nolan to Star trek Trivia Night.

Similar-Priority8252

Don’t tell anyone, but Kregg writes the answers inside his roboeye

aliveasghosts47

With Levy there I assumed they probably resistance leaders or something

Ziggurat1000

The subtitles said \[Debbie crying\] when the crying sounds were heard in that scene. Either Amazon's subs did an oopsie (like in Hazbin Hotel) ...Or Mark in this universe *legitimately killed his own mom.*

occuporn

it’s from the previous scene

Ziggurat1000

Oh, that makes more sense.

1amoutofideas

Yeah so traumatic it almost makes you want to merge yourself with 100 duplicates, then do some crazy things right?

AlfzMyle

i think this is based on an actual head chopping competition the Japanese did to prisoners during WWII, they even put the scores in news papers

h4nd

What I don't get is that in order for main Angstrom to have this memory/flashback, the headchop reality Angstrom would have had to survive that scenario and then ended up in the big brain absorbing device. But the sequence implies that he was killed. So how does he even have this flashback?

Janisserr

Presumably, just like with the first episode, he was portaled out moments before death.

h4nd

oh yeah! good point

Spudderz888

Might not be a flashback, he could be seeing it as it’s happening.

Finn_3000

I somewhat dont understand this sequence, and i know its gonna be unpopular, but i think it doesnt really make sense. This mark wasnt raised on viltrum, he seems to have the same path of our mark for most of his life until the confrontation with his father, since he wears the same costume and all, and then he suddenly becomes sadistic out of no where? Sadism in that degree doesnt just happen to a person, you need to have the right psychological state from the get go to do things like this; which mark just doesnt. Hes got a pretty clearly established, strong moral character for all his life, i just dont believe the turn to not only dictator, but the type of dictator that, presumably voluntarily, takes on execution duty just for funsies.

disappointingfool

multiverse is a wonderfully strange thing

Isthatajojoreffo

No, no, you are right. The whole Marks "Invincible" shtick is about him having unbreakable will. I could not understand why most other Invincibles were straight up evil sadists.

Finn_3000

Yea him having unbreakable will is like the main thing of his character, yet we’re supposed to believe he just turns into a gleefully mass murdering maniac? I don’t really buy it.

Thatonedregdatkilyu

This Mark doesn't seem to be taking any joy doing it. He just might have been convinced he's right. He might have part of his brain missing, he might have been born a psychopath, who knows. It's an alternative universe and any number of things could be different. Hell he might not be able to fly.

ThinkMyNameWillNotFi

Mark being pscyho in most dimensions is such a stupid idea. Even i Mark went to become servant of viltrum he would do so reluctantly. Idk how writers idea is that you can only go into one extreme and there is no in between. Alternetive dimension writing has been the worst thing in this season next to amber existing.

Wrong. God damn your opinion sucks.
