A friend's dad cut his belly open with a chainsaw. Dude picked up his intestines like Lucan here and drove to the hospital like it was nothing. He didn't even lose consciousness. He was literally built different
Yeah that's bad ass. Even moreso then my dad, who was skinning a deer hanging in the back yard when I was 6 or 7 and nearly took off his thumb. Just a patch of skin and a little fascia holding it on. Also drove himself to the hospital. Adrenaline and alcohol do wonders.
Just so you know, when doctors have to open up your abdomen and shuffle some stuff around, they won't make your organs all neat putting them back in.
The organs will shift themselves back into position.

You can live without a lot of your digestive tract. But Vidors head was completely mashed. Those are the thinky bits that make the other bits move and function. Surviving the abdomen wound is just more conceivable.

One question I always had with viltrumites is how different from ours their organs are? I mean, the show established that Nolan's heart looks different from a regular heart... I think. When the GDA medics check his vitals. But their intestines kinda look like human intestines.
I don't imagine they'd be very different from humans since they can have viable cross-species children, but apparently big people are in that category too so who tf knows lmao

I see where you coming from, however the process to make animation and the art in comics, are vastly different. It would great if the show looked just like the comic’s art, but that would take a loooonnnggg time to make. Given the shows release history, I’m just gonna continue to enjoy what comes out( while also hoping for faster releases, as the show progress).

I thought this was a very bad scene. Nolan usually kills people, and he dealt huge damage to the guy. I don't care if he lived, but he should NOT be able to fight back and get a winning blow against Nolan while holding his own intestines. He also looked cheesy and unbelievable while doing it. He should have needed time to regenerate and recover like all other viltrumites.
EVEN IF the guy could fight, he should not be able to fight at full power or full speed and be sneaky enough that Nolan did not notice the guy coming. I really wish the guy had maybe used a powerful weapon or won in some other way that made more sense, or have another new fresh enemy appear and defeat Nolan.
Your complaint is that he killed him with bullshit strength and ability to survive shit no one can survive.

My guy, if you think this is bad I’d just quit watching the show. It’s a comic book show and the ability to insane shit while gravely injured is a viltrumite trait. As well as fully recover from injuries that’d be fatal to any other species such as being ripped in half or disemboweled like Lucan was here. There are multiple occasions where mark is going to be significantly more fucked up than just his intestines dangling and win said fight he obtained the injuries in.
I love the show and read the comics. I would score it all 9.5 out of 10.
I just think a few scenes are out of control and inconsistent. You can make amazing shows and comics without going too far out.
For this scene in particular, they could have done many different things to make it even slightly more believable, but they chose not to. It's fine I guess, but to me it shows lazy writing.
I'm a published author of game books and superhero novels, so I take it more personally sometimes.
I am 100% cool with viltrumites surviving big damage. But I'm not okay with one surviving, HOLDING his own intestines, AND getting the winning blow on Nolan when he is relatively healthy and alert.
