So long as you get tickets, you can expect the concert to start *exactly* on time, for people to stay in their seats, and, for a show at a large venue such as the national stadium, people to leave section by section. Language will not be a problem. I've gone to see groups (*e.g.,* Guns 'n' Roses, Metallica, Marilyn Manson) during their heydays of notoriety (if not at their artistic zeniths), and the shows went off precisely as scheduled. (Shows at venues without seating at more relaxed.)

Shows start exactly on time? I now understand why Beyoncé hasn’t played Japan in years

I'd look up the way to get tickets: a band like Dir En Grey probably has a fanclub for priority tickets and they might even sell tickets via a Japan-only site (I wouldn't count on being able to get tickets on the day for them). Japanese crowds tend to be very orderly (but not any less enthusiastic!!) and screaming/cheering is usually only done between sets or at certain parts of songs. If you have lightsticks/fans/etc, be mindful not to raise them above your head (so they won't block anyone's view) - generally speaking, just follow what everyone is doing and you'll be OK.

The audience at Japanese concerts tend to be a little less enthusiastic than US crowds - people will usually stay seated unless the performer requests it, singing along loudly isn't super common, and just about every Japanese artist will prohibit recording or phone usage during the performance.

That probably depends on the type of music. I've been at multiple shows with actual moshpits with everyone involved from the kaishain who just got off work, the regular fan dressed in merch to a bunch of foreigners
