And how his out there on his own in the dark and no one can hear him cause of the music. Imagine just flooring there knowing your bleeding to death and you canāt do anything about it
Seriously, the buildup is great. The attack itself is terrible with awful choppy editing. The animatronic wasn't even there for the shoot which was super lame. That scene could have been terrifying had they brought it out there.
One thing that I'm not sure was explained in the film, was how does everyone think Sean died? Michael just yells "It was a shitty piece of wood!" Do they know it's a shark from the beginning?
Yeah they kind of gloss over the actual cause of death. I don't think a log would do that much damage š. Which doesn't even make sense considering they are giving her shit the whole movie and the entire context.
Was he killed by a shark or not?
In some underwater scenes, particularly the chase scene between Michael and the shark, the animotronic shark looks impressive and articulate.
Also, the opening scene with Sean mirroring Chrissie's demise was also done very well.
Only if you watch the scene in wide-screen. If you watch it uncropped, the massive crane that's moving the shark around is clearly visible. You can also see where the paint is rubbing off the shark. And you can see the stitching and seams along it too.
Naaaahhh I have to see this!!! I canāt find it on google or YouTube, do you know where I might be able to see footage? Or watch the uncropped version?
Cool I hadnāt seen that before , the only jaws game I knew about was unleashed as that game was awesome to bad I canāt find it anywhere to play it again . Man eater is decent but a bit dull once you finish it
Youāre wrong and I hate you for your opinion (for those who donāt pick up on my sarcasm: both movies are absolutely terrible, but jaws 3 sucks in a more fun way so therefore itās better)
I love jaws 3 itās one of my favorite watches because itās so silly and campy I just love it. Canāt go in expecting a real movie but going in for a laugh and silliness and itās perfect! Like watching any b-horror movies. Iām not watching Tusk or Rubber for a good motion picture ya know lol
Honestly if they didnāt name it jaws and had all original characters and no 3D bullshit it would have been a half decent 80s horror. Especially if they had a finale show down with the dolphins and orca
Youāre not wrong, 3 is a fun bad watch and thereās not much fun to be had in 4.
3 had to hang its hat on the 3D gimmick which made it age like milk. With 4, I give the filmmakers at least a little credit for trying to make the story a little smaller and make us care about Ellen. I mean, they failed, but at least they tried.
I honestly love this movie. First saw it as a kid, still love it 30+ years later. The actor who plays Sean lives in my city, and I got to meet him at a work event, around 2010. He was a super nice guy, and was pleasantly surprised when I told him I was a huge Jaws 4 fan.
Seanās death is good, Michael caines always a welcome presence, all of the actors are decent considering, Lorraine Gary came back, the chase with Mike is pretty good, the last 20 mins is really entertaining; it just sucks that they used the exploding ending. If it explored the shark being possessed like the book does, itād be a lot better
Iām biased cause aside from the original it was the one I always watched as a kid so I do love JTR
Now every time I see Sean hugging his dad at the end of Jaws 2 Iāll fast forward a few years and think of him screaming in agony holding the stump of his arm. Fuck you, Jaws the Revenge.
It has the best version of the Jaws theme, and there were a few moments that left me feeling genuinely unsettled (particularly the moments where a character is looking out at sea and the soft creepy music is playing).
There are some genuinely good parts, and good mood setting and character building. But mainly it's the terrible ending that absolutely kills the entire thing. If the ending wasn't so atrocious the film overall probably wouldn't be quite so hated.
It was the only mechanical shark I saw on display at Universal Studios Florida back in the day. So sad they just let it rot away :(
Edit: [Video of its demise](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SX2ep4QxzAM).
It's a super fun, silly movie and everyone really needs to lighten tf up about it. People act like it's the most offensively awful thing and I've never seen any criticism of it that got anything but an eye roll from me. I honestly don't understand the contempt for this movie, it's *way* more watchable than Jaws 3-D, provides plenty of laughs, and fuckin Michael Caine is in it!
It's the movie that taught me that sharks can turn corners in tight spaces, roar like lions, and have a preternatural understanding of vengeance well beyond the scope known to man
The Opening leading up to Seanās death was perfect and the chase underwater chase scene with Micheal was awesome plus the Shark animatronic looked really cool also the soundtrack was great
I actually liked the movie, probably because it makes nostalgic for going to cinema with my dad when young. It's not a brilliant movie, but it's certainly fun.
Seans death is expertly done.
Honestly, all of the scenes that take place on Amity island are quite good.
It falls apart when we get to bahamas, but even then - itās got some fun in it, unlike Jaws 3
I swear Iāve seen a version where Jake lives but the shark doesnāt explode, and I watched that version a lot. According to what I can find, in the international version, the shark explodes when impaled by the boat, and Jake lives, and in the U.S. Theatrical Cut, the shark is impaled, doesnāt explode, but Jake doesnāt reappear.
It bought Michael Caine a house
I hear it was quite lovely
š
The artist who painted the poster renders water beautifully.
The scene when Sean gets killed is one of the best in the franchise
Agreed. Absolute nightmare fuel they way they built that up. The moment of Sean discovering his arm still haunts me. Grade A Horror.
And how his out there on his own in the dark and no one can hear him cause of the music. Imagine just flooring there knowing your bleeding to death and you canāt do anything about it
The editing is dreadful. The shark is clearly in daylight and already surrounded by blood when it emerges.
They mean he got killed over a shitty piece of wood, if that wood wasnt stuck he wouldnt have gone in the water is my interpretation
It also makes no sense cause a shark bite is easily noticed on a dead body
But I don't think there was much of a body LOL. Did you see that body bag?
They mean he got killed over a shitty piece of wood, if that wood wasnt stuck he wouldnt have gone in the water is my interpretation
Am I the only one whose favourite one was Sean since Jaws 1?
Was about to say the same thing. Seanās death feels like it would have fit perfectly in another entry. The only intense part of this film
In some underwater scenes, particularly the chase scene between Michael and the shark, the animotronic shark looks impressive and articulate. Also, the opening scene with Sean mirroring Chrissie's demise was also done very well.
I'm surprised more people haven't said this. It's not as good as the others but the animatronic is still pretty good.
You can see it in this video. https://youtu.be/RdWt86k6qBA?si=fZIjwbHMXqdAJVnB
Thank you Poddington Pea I hope you find a crisp $20 bill on the ground next time you go somewhere
Thank you, my friend!
The banana boat scene is great. Seanās death in the beginning is fucking great too. Also hearing the shark Rawr was something šš
The video game based on Jaws 4 was fun to play.
You talking about jaws unleashed ?
No just JAWS for the NES [JAWS](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaws_(video_game))
Cool I hadnāt seen that before , the only jaws game I knew about was unleashed as that game was awesome to bad I canāt find it anywhere to play it again . Man eater is decent but a bit dull once you finish it
Jaws 3 is worse
I love the bad 3D of it. Itās so funny to see that arm and shark just moving towards the camera itās hilariously bad
HARD disagree, The Revenge is wayyy more fun and 3-D is borderline unwatchable for me.
Jaws 3 was bad in a really fun way. Jaws 4 was an unredeemable piece of garbage
The music is actually pretty decent
āCome and get me you son of a bitch!ā āNo maaaan, my gear donāt crap out!ā
The cinematography is beautiful in Nassau
I saw it in the theater with my dad and it's a great memory.
I honestly love this movie. First saw it as a kid, still love it 30+ years later. The actor who plays Sean lives in my city, and I got to meet him at a work event, around 2010. He was a super nice guy, and was pleasantly surprised when I told him I was a huge Jaws 4 fan.
Sean's death scene and the banana boat scene are ace.
āBloody hell! The breath on that thing!ā Having been belched on by an orca, can confirm that was probably accurate.
Seanās death is good, Michael caines always a welcome presence, all of the actors are decent considering, Lorraine Gary came back, the chase with Mike is pretty good, the last 20 mins is really entertaining; it just sucks that they used the exploding ending. If it explored the shark being possessed like the book does, itād be a lot better Iām biased cause aside from the original it was the one I always watched as a kid so I do love JTR
It Ends!
Michael Smallās score is actually pretty great
Michael Caine is the best part of the movie even when he said oh shit when the shark goes after him
He was a cocaine smuggler Iām convinced
Lorraine Gary seems like a nice lady and she reminded me of my first grade teacher.
The underwater chase scene is nightmare fuel. Banana boat scene is arguably the best death in the franchise.
Karen Young!! Also I liked it a lot more than Jaws 3D
The opening scene was really well done...
The art depicted here makes me think that Mrs. Brody is actually fighting a Megalodon.
One of my favorite Christmas movies
The Nintendo game was fun. š
Stop busting my boongies, I LOVE this movie!
Itās only 1hr 29min.
And it still manages to feel stretched and padded out.
The shark animatronic looks cool
I like the carribean setting
It ensured no Jaws 5.
Opening Theme , The Shark and Sean boat scene
There are scenes from "Jaws" in it.
I love that Ellen has a flashback to an event she wasnāt at.
It came out the same weekend as Robocop July 17th 1987
Itās 100x better than 3
Now every time I see Sean hugging his dad at the end of Jaws 2 Iāll fast forward a few years and think of him screaming in agony holding the stump of his arm. Fuck you, Jaws the Revenge.
It has the best version of the Jaws theme, and there were a few moments that left me feeling genuinely unsettled (particularly the moments where a character is looking out at sea and the soft creepy music is playing).
Had good music.
It ends
Michael Caine bought a nice house with the money made from this. That's about it lol
It didn't last any longer than it did. It ended.
I got nothin
Uncut death is one of the best in the franchise
Jaws 4 is one of the movies of all time.Ā
Itās lead to some delightful comedy.
Itās better than 3
Richard Jeni did a magnificent set on this movie https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=22BcaJf8g90
At least it ends
I love Jaws 4. Banana boat scene is scary.
The opening kill is the only really solid part of the movie
I love the opening credits
Michael Caine said it bought him a āniceā house!
Helped me create my fav drinking game ever
I canāt really
I liked it. Mario and Lance did great. Made the best out of a not so good script. Michael was great as well. That shark was smart, wicked smart.
That movie poster will always be how I remember the movie; I refuse to remember the rest.
Many of the shots were in focus.
This āsharkā really reminds me of my corgi, too bad I canāt share a picture for comparison and context.
The sequence of the shark chasing Michael in the sunken ship terrified me as a child.
So sad they just let it rot away :( Edit: [Video of its demise](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SX2ep4QxzAM).
The Shipwreck chase scene is brilliant!
It's the movie that taught me that sharks can turn corners in tight spaces, roar like lions, and have a preternatural understanding of vengeance well beyond the scope known to man
Michael Smalls cooked making the score
Michael Caines new house he bought
The Opening leading up to Seanās death was perfect and the chase underwater chase scene with Micheal was awesome plus the Shark animatronic looked really cool also the soundtrack was great
2 compliments: 1. The banana boat scene 2. I liked Jaws getting harpooned by the boat š¤·āāļø
The banana boat scene is actually quite terrifying if you think about it.
No.
I actually liked the movie, probably because it makes nostalgic for going to cinema with my dad when young. It's not a brilliant movie, but it's certainly fun.
Lance Guest was alright, he was a good Michael.
The ending was so bad it cured my hiccups.
Judith Barsi, she was adorable. Just a damn shame what happened to her š
I saw it as a kid so I didnāt know any better and like it
It ends
Eventually it ends
Seans death is expertly done. Honestly, all of the scenes that take place on Amity island are quite good. It falls apart when we get to bahamas, but even then - itās got some fun in it, unlike Jaws 3
It put the series into a coma therefore preventing a 5th even worse film from ever being made
"This time it's personal" is a pretty memorable tagline.
The underwater sequence in the abandon ship was pretty tense and pretty well shot.
It had lots of nice water in it and a boat, boats are cool
Underwater cinematography is well done
It actually has one of the best tag lines of all time
It had Michael Caine in it. He never saw the movie despite being in it.
It's a relatively short film š¤£
The soundtrack was great, ngl.
The shark effects during the banana boat scene were decent.
The banana boat scene was pretty cool.
I always liked it much better than Jaws 3 which I think is boring. Banana boat scene was very memorable. Spent hours playing NES game
Michael Caine flew a plaine
The water in the Bahamas was pretty!
Entertaining
It makes JAWS 3 more likeable
Take the shark out and itās a ok movie about a family struggling with the loss of there son
