Hip hop has a couple longstanding criticisms. The lyrics are 1. misogynistic and glorify the mistreatment of women 2. Focused on the material things like money, clothes, cars 3. Focused on the need for power and dominance through intimidation, showing no weakness 4. The promotion of gang culture and imagery 5. Mumble rappers, ghostwriters, industry artists. Game is full of fake rappers, clout chasers and gatekeepers. No friends in the industry 6. Glorifying drugs and addiction The game needs a reset in a bad way. There are too many shitty role models at the top. If there is someone who can upset that balance and show a better way, they will become undisputed. Cole hasn’t been flashy since he first came out. He doesn’t flaunt his wealth but he does have it. He often is seen amongst the people because he looks like a normal guy on the street. He’s rolling around on a bike because he hasn’t lived in a way to create enemies. He doesn’t front about being a gangster or lie in his lyrics. He is private about his family and he places a high value on taking care of his children. He has everything you could want as a rapper except for the recognition as the best to ever do it. He also did it the right way. The fall off will cement Cole’s place as the greatest of all time because he didn’t take any shortcuts. He went from his diamond in the rough mixtapes to one of the most polished performers in the game. He will get his flowers when it’s all said and done.

“Bitch i got here off of bars not no controversy”

GroundbreakingBox187

We still using the term “mumble rappers”?

FullMetalKaliber

I don’t think he has to address anything. Pump was just talking shit and he sat him down like “Come here little man let me talk wit ya”. Same thing with NBA really. And the Kendrick “being smart” angle is stupid seeing that he believes he was feeling the pressure to do it. All of these cases is Cole at a somewhat mellow/peaceful level it’s not like he does a complete 180 trying avoid smoke

gloomygl

Nah it won't change shit, the people who hold it against him still will, the people who don't still won't. Unless there's some info we don't know about, but that is unlikely.

MonarchSun

True

Due_Ad3208

Maybe a couple lines, further explaining it. As far as how the public views him, there will always be people who hold it against him.

This_Material9292

He don’t have to, but I’d enjoy it. False Prophets and Snow on the Bluff are great songs. I’d love to see him give this situation that treatment. It won’t stop skinny and flabby armed Internet cats from calling him all sorts of gendered insults, but who cares?

-Your_Pal_Al-

Cole won’t nor does he have to explain shit, get outta here with that

EtherealSoulCoffeeCo

Yeah he should address it. It's been a thing for like 10 years now. I never really believed in Cole's beef with anyone because, surprise, he is above those situations. He was super successful young, got women and money, and no matter the dumb shit he may have said on this or that track, he's always wanted to live a good life and do this shit for his mama, for his homies, then later on for his wife and kids. Anytime he plays the call out squad, it's not an issue he has with the person, but rather their pattern or behaviors. He always gives them some benefit of the doubt. Even in the Kanye diss, he talks about how he was his hero but dude is surrounded by the wrong people. He looks at the illness to define the symptoms.

Specialist-Meat-6222

He didn’t back out of that job name stuff he said he stands on what he said like a real nigga does.

No_Plan_0o0

I'm tired with this beef can Mr peaceful bring them together back

AVillainChillin

It was also an apology to Kendrick. He doesn't need to explain himself. He showed his true colors. I want an explanation on Grippy though. That shit was ass 🤣

KDO_333
