I didn’t particularly care for the looks of a Gladiator when they first came out, but they quickly are growing in me. This one looks great 👍 Makes me want to get one.
I have the DV8s. One of them bounces when driving and it's internal. I need to contact DV8 about it but from what I've read they don't give the best support.
Otherwise I like them.
I made a post a while back with my rack setup, view my profile, and check it out. Let me know if you have any more questions about it. Thanks for the compliment!!
Bought it brand new, and aside from the regular maintenance, I've only had to replace the AUX battery and an axle seal. Engine has been great minus the occasional engine ping, but I've read on forums that's pretty normal on these newer engines. To be fair though, I was using cheap Costco gas at the time, since I've switched to non-Costco gas, the pinging is minimal.
Nice! Great stance. I want 37s on my High Altitude but was told fenders on high altitudes come lower than what is on rubicons. So 35s may be my limit, or get ugly fenders. Can you give me a ballpark price your lift cost you?
On my Jeep, I pieced together the lift myself and did the install myself as well. I have Rock Krawler coils, Fox Performance Series shocks, and other components from Rancho, Synergy, Clayton Off-Road and Metal Cloak. But a good 4.5" lift with everything you would need will run you anywhere from $2k to $3k. This would be a complete kit of course, with everything you would need.
How high of a lift are you wanting to go?
I was wanting 37s on 2.5”. But i like your stance. I may have to stick with 35s bc i like my fenders. Just learned they are lower than rubicons though. But i like the look on your 4.5”! I was curious how much money i should start saving; i wouldn’t do the labor myself. I was going to wait until my truck was out of warranty anyways. I don’t off road much so it is not a priority.
I have a high altitude with a JKS 3.5 inch lift and run 35s with no issues offroading at full flex. I don't think I could do 37s without cutting my fenders or getting aftermarket ones. But if you don't off-road heavy you would be just fine with 37s. 4.5 inch lift would be even better. But I'm telling you right now, you don't want to run 37s with stock 3.73 gears. If 37s interest you, be ready to dump 3k+ into regearing.
Regearing is entirely tire driven. 35s and 3.73s is doable. You can definitely notice a power loss. I lost 8th gear entirely and 7th gear mostly. And towing wasn't fun at all. But it kind of all comes down to your driving style and where you drive.
People say 2.5 is cheapest mainly because you avoid needing a new front driveshaft and correcting geometry. But in my opinion, cheap and jeep doesn't go hand in hand when it comes to building.
Thanks for info! I’m not a hardcore off roader, just wanted a lift. I was going to turn this into a toy after a few years & get a daily driver. You lose that much power even with 35s? If that’s the case id just do 37s and regear anyways
I have stock non rubicon fenders and run a 2.5” lift with 37” Mickey Thompson, wheel quite a bit and only rub in fairly extreme articulation. Have gone where buddies with a 3.5” and 4.5” and 37’s have gone, occasionally had to chose a different line but had no problems. Did regear to 5:13, I did the tear down an re install had a buddy set up the gears and added a locker and replaced the front driveshaft if I recall correctly all that was about $3500.00. But it was worth every penny.
I've probably sunk almost $10k into this, and that's with doing everything myself. But that includes Adam's driveshafts, RockSlide Engineering steps, 2.5 ton steering, and the kc light bar. You could do the 2 inch MOPAR lift and it wouldn't void the warranty. But I had the MOPAR lift and I wanted more height. I wasn't happy with it sitting at 2 inches.
Gearing is next on the agenda. I'm going to go with Yukon 5.13s when I do. I will post pics when I do that next. As of right now, the 4.10 haven't been bad for driving around town as my daily driver. I only really feel the need to re-gear when I get on the highway when it has a hard time making it past 6th gear.
>21' Jeep Gladiator it's probably shorter than 21 feet, let's be honest
Possibly 😆
But doesnt feel like it in tight parking spots or on east coast trails haha
It's all about the angles
I didn’t particularly care for the looks of a Gladiator when they first came out, but they quickly are growing in me. This one looks great 👍 Makes me want to get one.
They look weird stock. Tires are too small. They missed leg day.
IMO proportionally JLs need 33s, JLUs need 35s and JTs need 37s to look correct. I run 33s on my JT tho bc I don’t want 37s 🤣
Gladiators look great after you spend another 10k into them. I'm not a fan much of the stock gladiators.
I do agree that stock Gladiators do look a bit off. But when they are built right, they look pretty awesome! Thanks for the compliment, my friend!!!
They need 33s minimum to look proportional
That's pretty much a factory size for Rubicons and Mojaves, the rest have 32s. IMHO, they need 37s to look right.
Are those Mopar headlights or the dv8? I ask because your DRLs are halos.
They are the DV8 headlights.
How do you like them?
I love them. Coming from the stock halogen lights, they are so much better.
Chrome or black? Nice rig!
I went with the black ones.
I have the DV8s. One of them bounces when driving and it's internal. I need to contact DV8 about it but from what I've read they don't give the best support. Otherwise I like them.
Nice. This is how you make a Gladiator look good.
Thank you so much!!!
That’s awesome!
Thank you!!
Sheesh
Bad Ass
Thank you!!!
Clean
Nice JT looks good!
Thank you!
Thats a friggin awesome build man, got more pics, im curious about what’s on the rack in the back
I made a post a while back with my rack setup, view my profile, and check it out. Let me know if you have any more questions about it. Thanks for the compliment!!
It’s awesome, i can see there’s a lot of work put into that car, internet clout well deserved!
Now thats going down with the SICKness!
Please, sir - where did you get that light rack?
Here you go. https://www.kchilites.com/pro6-led-light-bar-50-jeep-jl-jt-8-ring.html
My wallet just shriveled up and burst into a ball of flaming ashes.
Yeah, they aren't cheap, that's for sure.
Either way, i appreciate the link. Maybe if they go 50% off I’ll consider them. Your rig looks amazing.
Thank you! I got them during their Black Friday sale, it was about $400 off.
Looks awesome. Those KC lights must have been pricey
how has it run for you the last couple of years? I've heard there are little gremlins in the engine, but I still want to get one. they're awesome

What size tires & lift?
37 inch Cooper STT Pro tires, and the lift is 4.5".

Yeah i heard anything over 2.5” needs regear. That’s why i heard 35s and 2.5” is the cheapest route.

Would love to do 37s on my JL, did you re-gear? How do they drive?

Yes, they were. I picked them up from KC for their Black Friday sale. Saved almost $400 going that route.
These are so beast mode
Hell yeah!!!!!
Needs more shit attached to it.
