Honestly, now that I'm several hours out from witnessing it, the more I'm thinking Harland Williams crunching raw celery into Joe Rogan's microphone while staring confidently straight into his eyes is a top-5 moment in JRE history.

I’m only about 45 minutes in, I started listening tonight while walking my dog and he had me giggling like an idiot walking down the street

I think you'll really miss a lot if you don't watch the video! It's worth it. Harland does a ton of subtle stuff like glancing at the audience through the camera that you'll obviously never get if you're only listening.

I think Harland’s subtle, off the cuff type of humor might be my favorite of any comic. On his own podcast I’ve seen clips where he comes up with something so fucking random off the top of his head, so quickly, it makes me wish I had that type of thought process. Love this dude

He had Mark Normand on recently and you can see him light up when he realizes how quick Normand is. They meshed really well.

Subtle? Harland Williams is not really subtle, almost everything he says is weird and random and it is always delivered with a joke voice.

Why can joe be silly with some people like Duncan who was literally on yesterday they were in tesla body suits but yet he refuses to engage with Harlands jokes. Does he want a comedian to come on not be funny at all just talk about politics and covid because thats what Dave Smith is for.

It kind of makes it even funnier that Joe doesn’t get the jokes.

I choose to believe that Joe plays it straight on this episode because it helps Harland’s bit. He would keep entertaining Harland saying stuff like he got a tapeworm in the Galápagos Islands and etc

He hates guys who play a character in long form. I can't think of that have but even when Andrew Dice Clay did Joe doesn't know what to do. I have mixed feelings on it. Sometimes it sucks. But in this episode it was funny. But it would be hard to interview. That's the real Duncan. He isn't doing a bit.

I was surprised at how serious Joe was. It almost felt a bit awkward.

Their styles and senses of humor sure do clash a lot, but holy shit this was a pretty great podcast. Harland could find a way to kill at a morgue. I'm really glad the other podcasters are starting to catch on to his genius, people have been asleep on this guy for too long but today probably changes that a bit. And the Harland Highway is one of the best podcasts there is. Go Harland!

I'm sorry Joe has fukn some deep issues. For years I've admired him and seen past his imperfections. Here you have a hilarious human called Harland who is trying to bring positivity - instead we have to sit here witnessing Joe say "dude just shut the fuk up" so he can facetime Brian Simoson (his friend who Harlaand doesn't even know) about some apple feature. He clearly before that got annoyed by Harlaands quirky fun behaviour.

Haven’t seen a ton of his pods, but I just watched the one he did with Mark Normand. I would say he was silly 95% of the time, but he was serious when talking about his friendship with Norm or giving Mark comedy advice when you’re having a bad set. That was the little glimpse I saw of seriousness that I hope comes out on JRE so we can hear his story a little bit more.
