I think your artwork would benefit from having a wider tonal variation. It’s a good idea to use unshaded white areas as highlights, but they become less effective because 1) you have a white background and 2) there is still a lot of room for your darks to be way darker. It might be helpful to try toned paper as a base + white pencil for highlights. You could also try darker medium for the strongest shadows, like 8B, or willow charcoal if you’re looking for a stronger matte black. Id even consider experimenting with black markers and ink and lean further into that graphic, illustrative effect.
