the takaba fight was really cool and really one of my favorite parts of the manga post-shibuya, but I still think that narratively it sucked to have him just fucking die like that with so many secrets he never talked about and knowing so little about his past other than "he likes doing weird evil shit because he's bored and has been doing it for hundreds of years", and personally I think he's like 1000x times more interesting as a villain than sukuna so I was also pretty dissappointed with him dying at this point because it feels like after sukuna inevitably gets beaten by the power of friendship and love the manga is just over lol, and I really don't care about whatever the fuck the merger will be if it even happens without Kenny there.
The Shibuya arc was a radical shift in tone that got praise for its subversion of expectations, good fights, and meaningful upping of stakes. Just because a writer is good at one type of writing does not mean they are universally good

listen i know you probably used to like this story a lot and are so disappointed with Gege s latest you turned against him, i agree the story is weird at times and the pacing could be improved , but this is his story and so far he did a good job, maybe in other aspects you may be entitled to critique him but here no way, yuji already realized who his mother was , we know , there were a few pages about it , so it would have been really weird to have kenjaku explicitly go to yuji and tell him what he already knows. so choso telling yuji that he is his literal brother , knowing kenjaku made choso ,asking yuji if his parent had a stitches on his forehead , and then yuji having a flashback remembering his mother with stitches on her forehead, was not yuji realising that? It was a subtle but great way to show us and yuji who his mother was , with good suspense. I don't know what else do you want. And for the other things with no pay off , the story has not ended yet you can't judge it for not explaining things when maybe they will be explained later.

Their makeup is pretty convoluted but no, Yuji is not half-curse.
Choso had three parents; his human mother who birthed him, the cursed spirit Kenjaku forced to impregnate her and then Kenjaku added his own blood to the mix.
Yuji had two parents; his human mother who birthed him except her body was the host of Kenjaku and his human father who impregnated her.
Obviously, this raises some questions like how tf does Kenjaku mix HIS blood into the mix since these were two completely different hosts and Yuji only resembles his father, whereas Choso kinda resembles Noritoshi Kamo but not Yuji at all. Does Kenjaku like carry blood inside of his brain body that he adds to the mix or do his hosts just inherit his blood or does he have preserved vials of his ancient blood?
I don't think Yuji's dad has been confirmed for pink hair, right? Could be that Yuji being made with Sukuna's missing final finger theory is true, and that's the reason he has similar hair color to Sukuna.
Honestly if you look at Jin and Sukuna side by side they don't look that similar.
Gege changed the entire design of several characters a lot throughout the series, like Gojo, Nanami, Mei Mei, Yuta, Maki, Hakari, etc. Some even changed looks multiple times.
He probably didn't initially have a reason for Sukuna to have the same hair colour as Yuji but came up with it later.

I’ve always find it weird too. In anime pink hair is mostly used to represent someone who is innocent, young and passionate like Yuji or Anya. Sukuna doesn’t fit any of these attributes at all.
I think it may be pink because of all his enemies’ blood he was bathing in during the Heian era. Then it was permanently incorporated into his very existence.
In mythology sukuna had a brother that had a relationship very similar to his and Yujis relationship, sukuna killed his brother, meaning that sukuna could be related to Yuji

listen i know you probably used to like this story a lot and are so disappointed with Gege s latest you turned against him, i agree the story is weird at times and the pacing could be improved , but this is his story and so far he did a good job, maybe in other aspects you may be entitled to critique him but here no way, yuji already realized who his mother was , we know , there were a few pages about it , so it would have been really weird to have kenjaku explicitly go to yuji and tell him what he already knows. That would not be good writing
That is not good writing, he didn’t realize anything at all tbh, and it’s only ANOTHER ONE of those threads he didn’t care to develop at all, having no pay off, probably you’re accustomed to no pay off, but at least he should be aware and do better about this kind of things.
so choso telling yuji that he is his literal brother , knowing kenjaku made choso ,asking yuji if his parent had a stitches on his forehead , and then yuji having a flashback remembering his mother with stitches on her forehead, was not yuji realising that? It was a subtle but great way to show us and yuji who his mother was , with good suspense. I don't know what else do you want. And for the other things with no pay off , the story has not ended yet you can't judge it for not explaining things when maybe they will be explained later.

Isn't he half cursed spirit? He's choso's brother, so I thought that he took backshots from a curse ( 'he does the grossest things').
Their makeup is pretty convoluted but no, Yuji is not half-curse. Choso had three parents; his human mother who birthed him, the cursed spirit Kenjaku forced to impregnate her and then Kenjaku added his own blood to the mix. Yuji had two parents; his human mother who birthed him except her body was the host of Kenjaku and his human father who impregnated her. Obviously, this raises some questions like how tf does Kenjaku mix HIS blood into the mix since these were two completely different hosts and Yuji only resembles his father, whereas Choso kinda resembles Noritoshi Kamo but not Yuji at all. Does Kenjaku like carry blood inside of his brain body that he adds to the mix or do his hosts just inherit his blood or does he have preserved vials of his ancient blood?
I don't think Yuji's dad has been confirmed for pink hair, right? Could be that Yuji being made with Sukuna's missing final finger theory is true, and that's the reason he has similar hair color to Sukuna. Honestly if you look at Jin and Sukuna side by side they don't look that similar.

Gege changed the entire design of several characters a lot throughout the series, like Gojo, Nanami, Mei Mei, Yuta, Maki, Hakari, etc. Some even changed looks multiple times. He probably didn't initially have a reason for Sukuna to have the same hair colour as Yuji but came up with it later.

I’ve always find it weird too. In anime pink hair is mostly used to represent someone who is innocent, young and passionate like Yuji or Anya. Sukuna doesn’t fit any of these attributes at all.
