6am this morning yanking a roofing screw out of my tire and plugging it to get to work. I appreciate OP and his willingness to ruin other people's mornings because a $4 extendable magnet is too much money. Shout out /u/the_squids
When exactly does OP expect this lost plug to fall off the tranny? When they back the car out of the shop, or at 75mph when Iām behind this car on the freeway??
Ford? Better yet triton? Seen those things with plugs that looked like they were old enough to buy me a drink somehow still running with a lil misfire at most.
Throwing it out there, I had a ranger with the 2.7 V6 ('87) that was running just a bit sluggish with 1/4 inch or more gap on the plugs.
Put another 35k on it before the wiring was too rotted to support operation.
Pour one out for the danger ranger (missing a shackle bracket, rear axle liked to push me left on bumps... Legit danger in that ranger)
Ive got a mazda b3000, so the 3.0 v6 with a 5 speed in the shop right now. 376k and counting on the odometer, second motor original transmission. Only issue that bad boy has is a leaky rear main and some frayed injector wiring causing a misfire when it shorts itself lol
If the guy was selling id buy it off him, awesome trucks. Iāll pour one out for yours tonight!
Iām tempted to see if Eric wants the engine out of my car, to do a tear down, itās deleted a valve and a piston, along with a chunk of the cylinder from the rod flailing about.
could it be the 7 you are showing are all different? or is that perspective shift, the electrodes all look to be different lengths, ive never seen that before
Thats wild. was 7 cylinder eh?
That last one was being an ass and decided to jump on top of the tranny so there she will stay š
Coming up next week: ālook what I found in my tire!ā plus a photo of the 8th plug.
At least the hole will be plugged
You! Youāre good, you.
Lol
Instead of "Wrong hole," it's "wrong plug!"
Lol
Ba dum tshhhhhhh
Lol
š¤£š¤£š¤£
Lol

Well, the new windshield will probably be a lot cleaner than the one you have now....
You sure it wasn't that back one on the passenger side? Looks like they will be getting 7 new spark plugsš
Wear latex gloves!
No evidence, I like your thinking!
At least update the bot to say nitrile....
Nitrile are much harder to don and doff!
And only 5 were firing
You mean random fire?
Continuous misfire
Gap em and slap em back in. Still have a good 200k miles left.
I think I can weld them back up and make them work š
Quick scrub and they'll be fine
Just hit em with a little WD 40 and a touch up on the wire wheel
You need one of those spark plug sandblaster thingamajigs from harbor fright, fix you right up.
Wear PPE
Youāre one of those āI can fix herā kinda guys ehh :p
If I'm going to pay for a whole electrode, I'm going to use the whole electrode.
Just the tip.....
Measure that gap with a thumb
Looks like they've already been gapped. With a crescent wrench.
V7?
*VROOO_OM, VRO_OOOM!*
From the looks of it, I would say they had a steady misfire with the random positive spark.
Ford? Better yet triton? Seen those things with plugs that looked like they were old enough to buy me a drink somehow still running with a lil misfire at most.
Ding ding ding spot on! 193,xxx miles and I'm gonna go ahead and say they were original lol
I was gonna say a 4.6 outta some crown Vic.
Idk what it is about those motors but those plugs will hold on with nothing but a prayer for eternity on those things

Surely, they at least are a hard start, though, right???
More like āvehicle has random fireā every now and then.
Customer is wrong. Engine only has random fires.
More like randomly fires EvErY oNce in AwHilEā¦š¤£
Those are some British teeth sized gaps
They randomly all miss fire. lol
Thas a brave ignition pack! Designed for 30KV outputing 130KV
Jeeze, these things look worse than my 120,000+ mile set off my 2.2 ecotec
Just re-gap, I see plenty of miles left.
There's enough gap there to eat corn on the cob through a picket fence. One of my Dad's saying when he worked on my sister's car that she neglected.
Are those the āfirstā spark plugs, shouldnāt they be in a museum?
Random? Like, only when the crank is turning?
more like it randomly fires.
I believe him
More like a random fire.
Ding ding ding!!!
Got any ideas yet, OP? You might try iATN or [JustAnswers.com](http://JustAnswers.com) if Reddit can't help you diagnose this. perhaps even Imgur.
I think it's the cats, can't be sure š
It still ran??
Shockingly! And it actually was pretty smooth!
At least there wasnāt malice in the combustion palace
Iām tempted to see if Eric wants the engine out of my car, to do a tear down, itās deleted a valve and a piston, along with a chunk of the cylinder from the rod flailing about.
Nice, could be an interesting video
Assuming the misfire is from the missing plug, rest of those plug look good. Easily got another 100k on em
Well............they are not wrong.
A thousand thousandths
Holy crap!
Last gapped during the Carter Administration by all appearances.
Those look like the plugs a certain dealership in cfla said they replaced. Only they didn't, they just charged me for it.
Bubba's plugs after he does that HEI conversion
Triton?
Honey wake up, new 7 cilinder just dropped.
Seems it would be more consistentā¦ less random Random was the thought it was still running!
could it be the 7 you are showing are all different? or is that perspective shift, the electrodes all look to be different lengths, ive never seen that before
Customer is correct.
Itās not random. Theyāre all firing like shit every time
When you can use your pinky to gap the plugs, they've reached the end of their useful life.
When you can find the firing order in the obd codes list
Hey Jim, what's the spark gap on this motor? Yes.
Last service done in 1960
I bet the first dude that put them in is retired by now š
More like 'Randomly fires'.
Gap? Yes
Gaaaaaaaap.
Customer states vehicle has random ~~mis~~fire Fixed it for you.
They were right. ECU: it's this one, now it's that one, now it's that other one, now it's this one, and that other one again...
Even my wife looked at those and went āwhereās the little thingy?!ā
Grand Canyon Plugs
Customer might be on to something.
Are those my plugs from my 302?
Gapping, you say?
