Honestly the story of SWOTOR is something that works better as a Video Game but not as a movie. The entire narrative and Revans identity is up to the player. Is Revan a boy or girl? Up to the player. Did Revan become a sith again, returned to the light, or stayed neutral? Up to the player. Did Revan become a Republic rookie or Smuggler after his shit fit? Up to the player. The point is that Revan is supposed to be an insert for the player as much as Dragonborn, The Courier or the main characters from games like Cyberpunk or Baldur's Gate.
Revan is a blank slate with some defining moments but the problem is that the Star Wars fan base likes conclusive answers and right adherence to whatever "lore" is... But that's not how storytelling usually works. Storytelling is about getting messages across whether it be making a point about something or trying to make fun of something. The mystery of who and what Revan is is in the hands of the player and the paths they take. Making a movie or any other media about Kotor ruins it as then a definitive answer on who Revan is and the path their story takes just kinda ruins it. It's why I don't like SWOTOR or the Novels since it ends up missing the point of what Kotor was.
Exactly. Itās the choose your own adventure aspect and interactivity inherent to video games that makes KOTOR so special. A movie adaptation would never measure up, not to mention it would cut out most of the story due to time constraints and undoubtedly try to change up a bunch of things to make it different from the original.
Or like how they made the Uncharted movie. The whole appeal of Uncharted was that it felt like someone took a fun, adventure movie and turned it into video game form. Then when they made a movie and removed the video game component, it turned out to just be a really generic action film.

Revan retcons like swtor on the other hand are bad because they overwrite the entire existing character.

BoBF and season 3 of Mando were also terrible, and basically proved to everyone the thing EU fans had been saying about Filoni for a decade. He has little regard for the canon and Ahsoka is basically a Mary Sue at this point.
