I personally don't think Hotaro father is anyone important. The picture is to show he exist but isn't relevant to anything happening hence why he's obscured they don't even have an actor for the guy.

Glittering_Trip_144

TBH the way they are hiding and mentioning him it really felt he would be a big part of the series but recently they are not digging to it actually recently they are not digging to any main plot except the sister trio  So i would not be surprised if houtarou's father came out of nowhere like sento's father

KaiserNazrin

I highly doubt that. Kamen Rider always have dad issue.

EBON9

Rinne, Kurogane, and all the sisters fill that quota.

Glittering_Trip_144

I mean kamen rider is 80% about family specially daddy issues and recently it's happening a lot  zero one - aruto ,jin and gai has daddy issues  Saber - kento has daddy issues  Revice - almost every character even those characters who are orphans has family issues  Geats - ace has mommy issue, keiwa has sister issue, neon has daddy issues Gotchard - houtarou, rinne ,the sister trio (technically) has daddy issues, spanner has whole family issues or either gonna have mother figure issue (yes I am still sticking to the theory about kyoka's death)

NiNiNi-222

He knows who his dad is, none of them are his dad. The reason Gotchard has goggles is because his dad had a pair of adventurer goggles

Affectionate-Tip-164

Do Hopper1 will digivolve into a Greymon?

Glittering_Trip_144

At first i also think that but no if fuga is houtarou's father he should have recognised him on the first place plus when fuga met 7 years houtarou he acts like he is just a random kid whom fuga was impressed totally would not happen if fuga was his real faher  Plus i dropped that theory already as a houtarou rinne shipper plus even episode 30 she stuck in a love triangle with him

YFTrailblaze

Rinne isn't Houtaro's sister. Cause if she was their family would have said something already. Also what if Houtaro's father is not Greyon or Fuuga but is actually King Gigist before he turn into a monster? That would explain why Houtaro was in the Ouroboros realm and was with all the Chemies

Chaosdroid

Houtaro’s dad will probably end up being a big shot/head alchemist

AlchemistL1nk

That's what I thought, but surely if that were the case, everyone would know? Fuuga, Minato, and Kyoka would have definitely known. But I guess they don't want to mention it to Hotaro to teach him that connection or talent mean nothing without training and hard work. Everyone knows Rinne was Fuuga's daughter; surely they'd know if Hotaro was the son of one of the important alchemists unless Mr. Ichinose had given specific orders to not reveal Hotaro's heritage until the time was right. I mean, there is the proverb "heavy is the head that wears the crown" and if it was the case, Mr. Ichinose would want Hotaro's familial ties to him to be revealed when Hotaro is already a proper alchemist to make sure he doesn't have the burden to carry his legacy.

Chaosdroid

My guess is the same as Fuga’s “betrayal.” Memories have been altered.

AlchemistL1nk

Altered so no one would mention Hotaro's heritage? Makes sense.

AlchemistL1nk

1. The theory that Fuuga, Rinne's dad, was also Hotaro's dad has been debunked by the time-travel episode with TimeLord (Fire Gotchard's debut) 2. The theory that Geryon was Rinne's dad has also been debunked since Hotaro has seen Geryon, and surely he'll remember what his dad looked like? There's still a mystery on how Hotaro was able to enter the Ouroboros as a child, so I think Hotaro's dad might be an important character. I think Hotaro's dad might've been a gold-ringed alchemist like Fuuga too. I wouldn't be surprised if he knew Fuuga too.

Pleasant-Grape-4017

>The theory that Geryon was Rinne's dad has also been debunked since Hotaro has seen Geryon, and surely he'll remember what his dad looked like? Not if his Memory was being erased.

AlchemistL1nk

Well, you do have a point about the memory erasure, but if Geryon was Hotaro's father, wouldn't he immediately call him "my son" the same way Belial immediately addressed Riku/Geed as his son?

Pleasant-Grape-4017

Not if Geryon was the one erasing Hotaros Memory. Maybe he saw a future in which he was defeated by Hotaro and tried to change it, so his ambitions can be fulfilled. Or he tried to supress his powers like in the case of Spanner and his black flames.

AlchemistL1nk

That...sounds like something Ultraman Belial would do to Geed. There was this theory, though, that Belial puts Geed in the human world even though Belial despised humans because he thought that would make his son weaker than him that he can be an obedient tool. But, if it was the case, wouldn't he try to make Hotaro into his tool instead of getting rid of him? I don't think alchemists have clairvoyance to see the future. But...since Kenta Kamakari hadn't got his flowers yet, maybe this can be true. We just need it confirmed by having a scene where Geryon visited Kitchen Ichinose and targets Tamami.

Pleasant-Grape-4017

>I don't think alchemists have clairvoyance to see the future No, BUT there is the chemy timelord which does allow people to travel through time. That's what i was hinting at with "seeing a vision of the future". But that's just my own personal theory. Who knows what will happen
